The Ministry of Transport and its affiliated bodies and institutions congratulated our national junior football team for achieving the West Asian Federation Championship in its eighth edition for the first time in the history of Yemeni football, after its overwhelming victory over the Saudi national team by penalty shootout today in the Saudi city of Dammam.

The Ministry of Transport and all its affiliates in the Ministry’s General Diwan and its affiliated bodies and institutions expressed their joy at this historic first football victory.

She stressed that our national junior team presented a brilliant level and performance that surpassed all the Gulf, Arab and West Asian elections despite the siege, aggression and suffering that the Yemeni people have been experiencing for seven years.

The Ministry of Transport said that our national junior team presented a strong match and distinguished performance that embodied the spirit of determination and challenge to achieve the first place with a stubbornness and in all the matches it played with the teams of Jordan and Bahrain.

The Yemeni junior football team defeated Saudi Arabia by penalty kicks, and was crowned the champion of the West Asian Junior Championship in its eighth edition, where the match ended in a positive tie with a goal for both teams.

Sana’a and other governorates witnessed celebrations, weddings and fireworks, with the Yemeni team’s victory over the Saudi team and the achievement of the West Asian Junior Championship.
