the capital, Sana’a, witnessed a major mass march on Airport Street to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Zayd ibn Ali (peace be upon them) under the slogan “Insight and Jihad.”

The crowds affirmed their pledge to adhere to the approach of Imam Zayd (peace be upon him) and follow his example, drawing lessons from his courage, sacrifice, great stances, and revolution in confronting tyrants, oppressors, and the arrogant, supporting the oppressed, and defending the holy sites and causes of the nation, regardless of the challenges and sacrifices.

They reiterated the Yemeni people’s firm and principled stance in supporting and defending Gaza and the oppressed Palestinian people, and in confronting the criminal Zionist enemy until the aggression is halted and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted.

The crowds denounced the continued Arab and Islamic abandonment of our brothers in Gaza and Palestine, who are being subjected to genocide, starvation, and siege by the Zionist enemy, with American and Western support and participation, and international and UN complicity. The crowds emphasized that commemorating this anniversary embodies the Yemeni people’s connection to Imam Zayd and the beacons of guidance, and renews the pledge to follow their path and the principles and values for which they sacrificed, to continue jihad in the path of God, and to support the Palestinian cause and Islamic sanctities.

She noted that this great anniversary represents an important faith milestone for learning from the school of Imam Zayd, the ally of the Qur’an, courage, insight, jihad, sacrifice, and self-sacrifice for the sake of God, and for confronting the forces of tyranny, arrogance, and hegemony, most notably America and Israel. The assembled crowds affirmed that Imam Zayd, peace be upon him, is a great symbol of Islam and the leader of a great renaissance. He pursued great goals relevant to the nation in all times and places, and he acted with a desire to save the nation, guide it, reform its affairs, and correct its course.

The crowds chanted slogans of pride, jihad, and disavowal of enemies, along with phrases such as: “Zaid is the resounding voice of truth.. He destroyed the wall of submissive silence,” “Zaid revolted to end evil.. When he saw that good had changed,” “In memory of Zaid, an affirmation.. With Gaza, it escalates,” “Zaid’s revolution is a revolution of pride.. With it today, we have given Gaza victory,” “The Book of God will not let us.. Let Gaza down. No, by God,” “Whoever loves life.. Lives humiliated before tyrants,” “Those who hate the heat of swords.. Lives in humiliation and fear.” The crowds chanted, “Insight… Insight… A nation, a leadership, and a march,” “Gaza is hungry and calls you… I have called God to witness against you,” “What is your position, scholars? The children are your adversaries,” “Gaza has been hurt by betrayal… more than the war against the entity,” “Brothers of sincerity with Gaza… We are proceeding on the path of dignity,” “Jihad, jihad… long live, long live for jihad,” and “Oh Gaza, we are with you… You are not alone.”
During the march, the Grand Mufti of Yemen, Sheikh Shamsuddin Sharafuddin, praised the large turnout to commemorate this anniversary, glorify God’s rituals, and respect all the lofty values and principles for which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, came. He pointed out that this great and painful anniversary is a time for believers to learn lessons and morals, and to benefit from the meanings of pride, steadfastness, freedom, dignity, and pride. They also revive in their souls all the noble values and meanings brought by the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace.

He said, “When we commemorate this anniversary, we do not commemorate it out of sectarianism or denominationalism. Imam Zayd ibn Ali is the Imam of the nation, not the Imam of a particular sect or group. He rose up to revive and elevate the word of God after seeing the Sharia of Muhammad ibn Abdullah altered and rejected by those closest to him, not to mention those farther away.”

Allama Sharaf al-Din explained that Imam Hussein ibn Ali rose up to restore this religion to its proper place and to revive it in the souls of the people. He sacrificed his life and blood, along with those closest to him, for this purpose. Imam Zayd renewed this path in this nation.

He pointed out that the departure of Imam Zayd was due to the injustice and tyranny of the Umayyad rulers, who corrupted the beliefs, morals, and behavior of the people and caused the nation to be torn apart to this day. Therefore, it was necessary to restore order through great sacrifices led by the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
He explained that tyrants and criminals do not grieve over the sanctities of Muslims and are not disturbed by the insults to the Messenger, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace. He explained that this doctrine continues to this day and is confirmed by the tyrants of our time, the rulers who witness the horrific massacres in Gaza and Palestine and do nothing, while the school of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, rejects injustice, submission, and humiliation except to God. He emphasized that the Yemeni people, with their wise, struggling, patient, and steadfast leadership, who have drawn inspiration from these lessons and derived from this school the meaning of pride and dignity, are today confronting the forces of evil—America, Israel, and the infidel Western countries behind them. He explained that this school is a school of giving, jihad, courage, martyrdom, and enjoining good and forbidding evil.

The Grand Mufti of Yemen highlighted the virtues of Imam Zayd ibn Ali, who was known as the ally of the Quran because he embodied it in spirit, word, and deed.
He also addressed the situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that anyone who slackens in jihad, ignores the hunger and thirst afflicting the people of Gaza, and shows no sympathy or support, undoubtedly deserves the curse of God, His Messenger, the angels, and all people from now until the Day of Judgment. He addressed the scholars of the nation who remained silent about the clarification God Almighty has enjoined upon them, saying, “If the scholars of the nation are righteous, this nation will be righteous and mobilized. If we lose hope in the nation’s leaders, we must not lose hope in its scholars.”

He emphasized that the duty of the nation’s scholars is to incite people to jihad in the cause of God and to aid their distressed and starving brothers in Gaza, who beg them day and night. “O Muslims, we are dying of hunger, we are dying of thirst. The enemy is killing us, and you are remaining silent.”

Allama Sharaf al-Din addressed the scholars, saying, “What will you be able to say before God on the Day of Judgment? How can the scholars of Al-Azhar answer their Lord while remaining silent? Likewise, how will the scholars of the Two Holy Mosques bear their responsibility before God while they remain silent regarding these heinous crimes in Gaza, without offering advice, warning, or taking any position?”

He pointed out that those scholars of the Ummah who remain silent about what is happening in Gaza are among those who have betrayed God and His Messenger. He emphasized that the attacks of the Jews and America against Muslims will not cease unless scholars fulfill their duty of inciting this Ummah, break the barrier of fear, and fulfill their responsibilities.

Sheikh Sharaf al-Din pointed to the Yemeni position in support of Gaza since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada. He said, “The Yemeni people have been coming out since the first day of the Al-Aqsa Intifada to support and aid their brothers in Gaza, supporting them with words, deeds, money, and jihad with missiles and drones. This is a blessing from God for which we thank Him.”

He added, “This is wisdom and faith manifested in its most magnificent form in this honorable and continuous presence, and steadfastness in this principle until we meet God Almighty.”

The Mufti of Yemen expressed his astonishment at the Ummah’s failure to support Gaza, noting that the fault lies with the leaders of the Arab and Islamic Ummah, who are like “sheep” before the Israeli enemy. However, in the case of Yemen, the situation is completely different. The leader is a lion, the people are lions, and they are all lions in confronting the Israeli enemy.”
He said, “Our message to our brothers in Gaza is to be patient, steadfast, and steadfast. Stand firm in your faith. By God, you are an icon of pride, victory, steadfastness, and resilience for this nation. The free people of this nation draw inspiration from you for the meanings of pride, steadfastness, and true faith in God and His Messenger.” He emphasized that they are the spearhead in the back of the Israeli and American enemy.

Scholar Sharaf al-Din called on the Yemeni people to continue their steadfastness, perseverance, and support for Gaza, spending in the way of God, and supporting the missile force, drones, and military production.

He also called on the free people of the world to activate escalation in the coming days to support our brothers in Gaza, especially after they demanded that the nation take urgent and effective action to stop the genocide being committed by the Zionist enemy with unlimited support from America and other infidel countries.

The Mufti of Yemen addressed a message to scholars: “Fear God and move to support Gaza, and fear no one except God, for He will question them,” calling on the ruling regimes to fulfill their responsibilities before God, for tomorrow the follower will disavow the leader.

He added, “This event, God willing, will restore order and chart the course for this nation, reviving faith in the hearts of its people, the meaning of jihad and martyrdom, and implementing the tradition of disavowing the enemies of God.”

The march included a poem about the status and courage of Imam Zayd ibn Ali, peace be upon them, his faith, jihad, sacrifice, and great stances, as well as a rendition by the Martyr of the Pulpit band.
