A meeting chaired by Miftah discusses the emergency plan for operating Sana’a International Airport.

 

An expanded meeting at Sana’a International Airport today, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, discussed the emergency action plan to restore the airport’s operational and technical readiness to resume receiving civilian flights as soon as possible.

The meeting, which included Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim, his deputy, President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority Yahya Al-Sayani, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airlines Khalil Jahaf, Airport Director Khaled Al-Shaif, and a number of stakeholders from the Authority and the airport sector, reviewed the tasks of the technical and engineering committees and the necessary requirements to complete the work within the specified timeframe.

The progress of rubble removal and repair of damage resulting from the Israeli aggression on the airport was also assessed.

At the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of the work teams at Sana’a International Airport, which represent an honorable model of cooperation to restore this vital facility to service. He also noted the historic victory achieved by the Yemeni people over the American enemy.

He reassured citizens that the fuel crisis had eased, noting that unloading of oil tankers at Hodeidah ports had begun, and that tugboats were on their way to meet the needs of the governorates.

For his part, the Minister of Transport and Public Works confirmed that ongoing work was proceeding at a rapid pace, and that technical committees were working around the clock to restore the airport’s operational readiness as quickly as possible.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the Civil Aviation Authority and Sana’a Airport, as well as technicians and engineers involved in implementing the emergency plan.
