Meeting chaired by Muftah discusses mechanism to develop civil defense performance & enhance readiness

A meeting chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Muftah today discussed the mechanism for developing the Civil Defense Authority, enhancing its ability to perform its vital humanitarian duties towards society with high efficiency and professionalism.
The meeting, attended by the Deputy Ministers of Interior, Major General Abdul Majeed Al-Murtada; Transport and Public Works – Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Yahya Al-Sayani; Electricity and Water, Adel Bader; Finance, Nasser Al-Hamdani; and Oil and Minerals, Mohammed Al-Najjar, reviewed the difficulties facing the Authority and ways to overcome them through providing support.
The meeting also addressed the importance of the Civil Defense’s role in saving lives and protecting public and private property from natural disasters and fires, especially in light of the Israeli aggression against our country. During the meeting, Miftah stressed the need to provide all forms of support to the Civil Defense Authority, which has proven its importance through its effective response to warnings and reports during rainfall, in addition to its role in extinguishing fires, especially in light of the Israeli aggression on Yemen.
For his part, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, praised the level of cooperation between the Secretariat and the Civil Defense Authority, stressing that Civil Defense represents a service and humanitarian front concerned with the lives of citizens and receives significant attention due to the nature of its duties.
Major General Ibrahim Al-Muayyad, Head of the Civil Defense Authority, explained that the Authority, in coordination with relevant authorities, has prepared comprehensive emergency plans that have contributed to enhancing disaster preparedness. He emphasized the Authority’s commitment to fulfilling its duty to protect lives and property, despite the difficulties it faces.
