Acting Prime Minister Inspects Progress on Al-Muqaleh Street Maintenance Project

Acting Prime Minister, Muhammad Muftah, accompanied by the Mayor of Sana’a, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, inspected the progress of the maintenance and rehabilitation project on Al-Muqaleh Street in the Al-Sabeen District today. The project, costing 140 million riyals, is being funded locally.
They, along with the Undersecretary of the Municipality for Public Works and Projects, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi, reviewed the asphalt repairs being carried out on 1,680 square meters of deteriorated sections of Al-Muqaleh Street by the Executive Unit for Roads and Public Places Maintenance and Development.
In a press statement, the Acting Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the complete rehabilitation of Al-Muqaleh Street, which has already begun with the paving of the western section and surrounding areas. He noted that it is a vital street in the capital. He expressed hope that the work on this street, as well as Socotra Street and the surrounding streets, and Khawlan Street, will be completed soon, facilitating the movement of citizens and enhancing the capital’s appearance. He confirmed that the completion rate for the sewage pipeline project in this area has reached 80 percent. He noted that once the pipeline is finished, the process of installing the internal network supplying the neighborhoods benefiting from the project will begin.
Allama Muftah praised the efforts exerted by the leadership of the Capital Secretariat and its field units in implementing these projects. He urged the removal of all accumulated debris from the vital area connecting Taiz Street with the western sections of Al-Muqaleh, Baynoun, 22 May, and Bayhan Streets.
The Mayor of the Capital affirmed that the project is part of a package of road projects being implemented by the Secretariat, including the maintenance and repair of Khawlan and Suqtur Streets and the construction of surface concrete bridges, which will contribute to improving public roads.
He directed the Public Works Sector and the Executive Unit to intensify their efforts and accelerate the pace of work to complete these projects according to the required technical specifications and quality standards, thereby facilitating traffic flow and serving citizens.
They were accompanied by the Director of Community Initiatives Projects at the Capital Secretariat, Engineer Ahmed Al-Mashraqi, the Director of Technical Supervision, Engineer Musa Al-Mansouri, and the Deputy Director of the Executive Unit, Engineer Ali Mahraqa.
