The Public Works Office, along with the branches of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges and the Roads Maintenance Fund in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, organized a commemorative event today to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the “Martyr of the Quran.”
At the event, which was attended by the Director of the Public Works Office, Muhammad Muthanna, and the Director of the Roads and Bridges Corporation branch, Ibrahim Sharaf al-Din, the Deputy Director of the Public Works Office, Muhammad al-Shumairi, stated that commemorating the anniversary of the martyr leader is an occasion that embodies divine promises of victory for the believers. He emphasized that this anniversary represents a spiritual and cultural milestone for drawing lessons and inspiration from the life of the martyr of the Quran.
He pointed out that the insight possessed by the martyred leader, especially during a period when the nation was living in a state of misguidance and injustice, did not come from a vacuum. Rather, it was the fruit of his absolute faith in God’s promise, his adherence to the light and guidance contained in God’s Book, and his deep understanding of Quranic culture, which enabled him to support the oppressed and confront the forces of tyranny.
Al-Shumairi noted that the strength of the Yemeni people today is embodied in their honorable stance with Gaza and their support for the Palestinian cause, despite the distance, which transcends the Quranic principle that mandates supporting Muslims wherever they may be.
He emphasized that understanding the character of the martyred leader and continuing the path he began in order to build a state of justice and righteousness, to serve as a model for the Islamic state, requires understanding the foundations upon which his Quranic project was built.
He indicated that loyalty to the blood of the martyrs, foremost among them the martyred leader Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, is embodied in following his path and continuing his project to build a truly just and righteous state.
For his part, the Vice President of Dar Al Uloom Al Sharia University, Sheikh Ali Adhabi, reviewed a part of the biography and virtues of the martyred leader and what he embodied in terms of values of sacrifice and struggle to correct the course of the nation, through the enlightenment project derived from the Holy Qur’an.

He noted that the Quranic project launched by the martyred leader has become a global voice for truth and justice, and a source of hope for the oppressed and free people of the nation. This is reflected in the honorable stances of Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi on the issues facing the nation, amidst the state of submission and normalization that most Arab and Islamic regimes are experiencing. Adhabi affirmed that the blood of the martyred leader has become a volcano against the oppressors, explaining that the fruits of his movement and his Quranic project have manifested in liberation and independence, the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in confronting the forces of arrogance, America and Israel, and the support for the Palestinian people and the heroes of the resistance in Gaza during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle.
He called on everyone to draw lessons and inspiration from these great stances and to follow the guidance of the Quranic project with utmost sincerity and devotion, as it best embodies the greatness of Islam.
He emphasized that the Yemenis’ jihadist struggle was among the most prominent factors that transformed the Quranic project adopted by the martyred leader into a global project whose impact has reached all corners of the earth, explaining that the martyr of the Quran provided the nation with all the elements of honor, elevation, and dignity. He pointed out that anyone observing the state of the Muslim world will notice that the Yemeni people were at the forefront of breaking free from the shackles of subservience and shattering the chains of dependency imposed by arrogant and tyrannical powers. He added that this honorable stance in support of their brothers in Palestine would not have been possible without following the path of the martyred leader.
The event, which was attended by Zaid Al-Mawshaki, head of the supervisory team at the Roads Maintenance Fund, and employees of the Public Works sector and the Roads Corporation, included recitations that expressed the significance of the occasion and the esteemed position of the martyr of the Quran in the hearts of the nation.
