Al-Samai and Miftah inspect the progress of work on the rehabilitation of Sana’a International Airport.

Member of the Supreme Political Council, Sultan Al-Samai, and First Deputy Prime Minister, Allama Mohammed Miftah, today inspected the progress of the rehabilitation of Sana’a International Airport following its targeting by the Israeli aggression, which caused significant damage to its vital facilities. Along with Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and his deputy, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Yahya Al-Sayani, they reviewed the debris removal work in the airport halls, the main runway, and the aircraft landing area, in addition to the emergency preparations the authority has begun following the aggression’s targeting of the airport.
They heard from the Director of Sana’a Airport, Khaled Al-Shaif, an explanation of the emergency plan that had been prepared in advance in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
He confirmed that work is proceeding at a rapid pace around the clock, thanks to the continuous efforts of technical and engineering personnel.
During the visit, Al-Samai praised the steadfastness of the airport personnel, considering the targeting of the airport a full-fledged crime and a flagrant violation of international laws and norms.
He reiterated that Yemen will remain steadfast in its support for the Palestinian people in the face of aggression, stressing that this crime will not go unanswered, and that the enemy must anticipate what comes next.
For his part, the First Deputy Prime Minister praised the tremendous efforts made by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works and the Civil Aviation Authority, noting that what he saw on the ground reflects the national and humanitarian commitment of all employees.
He said, “The airport will be ready within days, and the upcoming humanitarian flight will be a good omen toward resuming civilian flights to various destinations despite the blockade and aggression.”
For his part, Minister Qahim confirmed that technical and engineering work is continuing at an accelerated pace to restore the airport’s operations and receive humanitarian flights, including the return of patients and stranded people.
He directed the relevant authorities, including the Roads and Bridges Corporation and the Road Maintenance Fund, to intensify efforts and provide technical equipment and supplies to achieve readiness in record time.
They were accompanied during the visit by the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airways, Khalil Jahaf; the Chairman of the Roads and Bridges Corporation, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami; the Chairman of the Road Maintenance Fund, Eng. Nabil Al-Haifi; and the Assistant Undersecretary for the Airports Sector at the Civil Aviation Authority, Yahya Al-Kahlani.
