Al-Zaykum Inspects Road Repair and Rehabilitation Work in Al-Mahwit City

Dr. Ali Al-Zaykum, Secretary-General of the Local Council of Al-Mahwit Governorate, and Hamoud Shamlan, Deputy Governor, inspected today the progress of repair and rehabilitation work on several streets in Al-Mahwit City. The work is being carried out by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges with funding from the Road Maintenance Fund.
Al-Zaykum and Shamlan listened to a briefing from Engineer Ahmed Al-Yanai, Director of the Roads Authority branch, about the project’s implementation phases. The project includes rehabilitating damaged sections, repairing the asphalt layer, and addressing cracks caused by rain, all of which will contribute to improving road efficiency and facilitating traffic flow.
Al-Yanai explained that maintenance teams are working to remove worn layers, fill potholes, and resurface damaged sections according to approved technical specifications. He noted that this work is part of a comprehensive plan to maintain and improve the road network.
During the visit, Al-Zaykum emphasized the importance of implementing projects according to the highest technical specifications. He noted that improving the city’s internal roads is a top priority for the local authority due to its direct impact on citizens’ lives and its role in driving local development.
He indicated that these projects are part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade the governorate’s infrastructure, affirming that the local authority will continue to support all projects that enhance public services.
He pointed out that these works are part of the efforts to develop the governorate’s road network, contributing to development. He commended the vital role of the Roads Authority and the Road Maintenance Fund in supporting infrastructure projects.
