Al-Zaykum Inspects the Sardad Bridge Project Linking Al-Kadan and Malhan in Al-Mahwit

 

Dr. Ali Al-Zaykum, Secretary-General of the Local Council of Al-Mahwit Governorate, inspected the progress of the Sardad Bridge project today. The bridge will connect the Al-Kadan and Malhan districts.

The project, implemented by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges with support and funding from the Road Maintenance Fund, aims to strengthen infrastructure and facilitate traffic flow between the two districts.

Dr. Al-Zaykum, accompanied by Deputy Governors Ahmed Al-Qatma and Hamoud Shamlan, received a briefing on the project’s progress, which includes concrete work and bridge construction. The project is 80% complete and will facilitate the movement of citizens, goods, and services.

The Secretary-General emphasized the commitment to completing the remaining work on the project while adhering to quality standards, technical specifications, and the established timeframe. The project was considered vital, reflecting the local authority’s commitment to developing the governorate’s road and bridge network and connecting remote districts to major centers. The governor commended the efforts of the Roads and Bridges Corporation and its team in completing the project according to the specified technical specifications.

For his part, Deputy Governor Al-Qatma noted that the bridge project will connect the Al-Kadan and Malhan districts, facilitating access to development services for citizens in remote areas.

He affirmed the local authority’s continued commitment to monitoring infrastructure projects and providing the necessary support to ensure their sustainability and quality.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Shamlan praised the Fund’s efforts in financing vital projects, emphasizing that such projects reflect the state’s dedication to improving the road and bridge network and supporting local development across the governorate’s various districts.
