Amran Governor Inspects Progress of Construction of Al-Wahda Al-Jiwar Street (41-81)

Amran Governor Dr. Faisal Ja’man today inspected the progress of work on opening and constructing Al-Wahda Al-Jiwar Street (41-81), extending from Al-Nasr Roundabout to May 22 Street in the governorate capital. He also inspected the mechanism for removing building violations and construction works on the street, which has been stalled since the plan was approved in 2002.
Governor Ja’man listened to an explanation from Salah Al-Qahoum, Director of the Executive Unit for Road Repair and Maintenance, about the project’s scope, including construction work spanning one kilometer and 24 meters in width, and the removal of existing violations along the street, including columns, fences, building foundations, stones, and walls.
During the visit, Governor Ja’man praised the efforts of the Public Works Office and the Executive Unit in implementing the project, which connects the Eastern Province to the governorate capital. He pointed out that the project, which has been stalled for years, aims to alleviate traffic congestion on Sana’a Street and facilitate the movement of citizens, especially patients, to Al-Samad Hospital Authority.
The Governor of Amran emphasized the governorate leadership’s interest in road projects, stemming from its commitment to serving the community, alleviating its suffering, and expanding service projects. He emphasized the need to open, level, and rehabilitate the main and secondary streets in the governorate center in accordance with the master plan.
For his part, Al-Qahoum indicated that, in cooperation with the Public Works Office, after the project had been stalled for more than 23 years, the street was reopened, its path completed, and its connection to Al-Samad Hospital Street and the 22 May Road was completed. He confirmed that work is underway to clear the street and complete its survey in preparation for backfilling and asphalt.
