Atifi and Al-Haifi Inspect Bridge Restoration Work on the Hodeidah-Taiz Road

The Governor of Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works for the Roads Sector, Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, inspected the progress of work on the restoration and rehabilitation projects for several bridges and culverts on the Hodeidah-Taiz road today.
They, along with the Director of the Beit Al-Faqih District, Hussein Sahl, reviewed the construction and restoration work on the bridges in Wadi Dub’ah, Wadi Al-Kuwai’, and Wadi Al-Suleikiyah, which are being carried out by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges.
They listened to explanations from the engineers and project supervisors regarding the level of implementation and completion rates of the work, and the importance of these bridges in facilitating traffic and transportation along the road linking Hodeidah with the governorates of Taiz and Ibb. The meeting also addressed the ongoing preparations for the restoration and rehabilitation of several other bridges and culverts, as well as the completion of paving the parallel route, the “Al-Hudaydah – Bayt al-Faqih – Al-Jarahi” road.
During the visit, the governor commended the efforts made by the Foundation and the Fund in completing and restoring the bridges and culverts located on this vital road.
He emphasized the importance of completing the construction and rehabilitation work on these bridges, in addition to carrying out maintenance and rehabilitation work on the Al-Jalla Bridge in the Bayt al-Faqih District, with joint funding from the Road Maintenance Fund and the local authority in the governorate.
They were accompanied during the visit by the directors of bridges and tunnels at the Road Maintenance Fund, Engineer Muhammad Sharaf al-Din; the Fund’s supervisor, Engineer Bashir al-Sani’; the Public Works branch, Engineer Saddam Mutah; and the technical unit, Engineer Abdullah Bardini.
