Deputy Minister of Roads Inspects Maintenance Work in Al-Mahwit City Streets

 

The Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works for the Roads Sector, Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, inspected today the progress of maintenance and repair work being carried out by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges on several streets in Al-Mahwit City, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund.

Al-Haifi reviewed the level of completion of the ongoing projects, praising the efforts of the Authority’s technical teams and the quality of the work being done.

The Deputy Minister also discussed the condition of the Al-Rajm – Bab Al-Fajir – Juma’a Sar’a road with the Directors of Public Works, Engineer Yahya Al-Qadi; Finance, Naji Farhan; ​​and Follow-up, Muhammad Al-Jawda, as well as the Director of the Roads Authority branch, Engineer Ahmed Al-Yana’i. He directed a reassessment of the design and improvements to the main curves in the Bab Al-Fajir section to enhance traffic safety, and tasked the technical teams with conducting a field visit to complete the evaluation procedures.

He noted that the Road Maintenance Fund will contribute 30 million riyals to rehabilitate the street and improve its services.

The Director of the Public Works Office in Al-Mahwit Governorate expressed his readiness to provide all necessary support to the technical teams during the assessment and maintenance phases. He indicated that including vital roads in the maintenance plan will contribute to improving the road network.

He explained that the paving and rehabilitation work is part of the local authority’s directives to improve public services, particularly those related to road infrastructure. He added that the office will complete the technical studies for the remaining roads requiring urgent intervention, both within the city and in the districts.
