Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works meets with the Political Officer of the Office of the UN Envoy

Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works – Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority Yahya Al-Sayani, met today with the Political Officer of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Roxana Bazargan.
The meeting, which was attended by the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airlines Khalil Jahaf, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority Aref Al-Ashram, and the Director of Air Transport at the Authority Dr. Mazen Ghanem, discussed topics related to the air transport sector and the humanitarian services it provides to the Yemeni people.
The meeting touched on developments related to the humanitarian file, including efforts to lift the ban on Sana’a International Airport, and open new priority destinations such as India, Cairo and others, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works stressed that the government’s priorities include meeting the necessary and humanitarian needs and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, by improving basic services and expanding the scope of air destinations through Sana’a International Airport.
He explained that it is illogical for flights to be limited to only one destination for millions of citizens.. stressing the need to find radical and fair solutions away from political bickering, with a focus on putting the public interest before personal interests.
Al-Sayani stressed the need to preserve the Yemeni aircraft fleet, accelerate the arrangement of maintenance priorities, and ensure the readiness of aircraft.. pointing out that Yemenia Airlines has professional and technical cadres with long experience in the field of civil aviation, in addition to an integrated maintenance center that provides high-quality services.
For her part, “Bazrjan” referred to the efforts of the Special Envoy to address urgent humanitarian issues.. noting that operating Sana’a International Airport and expanding the scope of civil flights are a priority to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people
