Dhamar – Public Works, Transport, Roads Corporation, and Earthquake Monitoring Center Commemorate Martyrs

 

The Public Works Office, along with branches of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, and the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring Center in Dhamar Governorate, organized a commemorative event today honoring the families of martyrs under the slogan “Our Martyrs, Our Great Ones.”

During the event, Deputy Governor Mohammed Abdul-Razzaq emphasized the importance of commemorating Martyrs’ Day to remember their sacrifices, draw lessons from their actions, and follow in their footsteps in defense of the homeland and the nation.

He affirmed that loyalty to the martyrs is embodied in upholding the values ​​and principles for which they sacrificed, working to build a new Yemen, and preserving and elevating its status. He stressed the need for concerted efforts to care for and support the families of martyrs on an ongoing basis.

It has been omitted from the translation.] For his part, the Director of the Public Works Office, Engineer Mu’adh al-Shawkani, pointed out that thanks to the blood of the martyrs, the free people of Yemen in the liberated provinces enjoy security, stability, dignity, and honor.

He considered the commemoration of the martyrs a day of pride and a renewal of the pledge to those who ascended to the peaks of glory and the history of sacrifice, so that the nation may remain free and dignified. He urged adherence to the project of the Quranic movement and following in the footsteps of the martyr leader, Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and all the great martyrs of the nation.

For his part, the Director of the Center for Monitoring and Studying Earthquakes and Volcanoes, Muhammad al-Houthi, addressed the virtue of martyrdom and the high status that God has bestowed upon martyrs, placing them alongside the prophets and the righteous.

He considered the commemoration of the martyrs an educational and faith-based milestone for consolidating the culture of jihad, in appreciation and recognition of the martyrs’ sacrifices that have yielded glory, victory, and dignity.

In his address on the occasion, Abdullah al-Banous affirmed that martyrdom in the cause of God is the most sacred sacrifice and the highest offering, which God has reciprocated with His own. He emphasized the importance of the anniversary in drawing lessons of resilience and steadfastness in the face of challenges, and in honoring the families who sacrificed their most precious possessions so that the nation might enjoy security and stability.

The event, which was attended by local council member Abdulhakim Wahbi, and the directors of the Transportation Authority (Abdul Fattah Al-Banous), Human Rights (Mohammed Al-Mawari), Water Resources (Haitham Al-Ashram), and Development Research and Training (Samir Khashafa), included two poems, a moving musical performance, and the honoring of the families of martyrs from the agencies that organized the event.
