Dhamar: Roads Authority Branch Begins Expansion of Rasaba Section on Dhamar-Sanaa Road

The Dhamar branch of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges began today the third phase of expansion work on the Dhamar-Sanaa road, specifically the Rasaba section (dual carriageway), covering a length of 3.7 kilometers and costing 250 million riyals, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund.
The branch director, Engineer Mohammed Al-Madani, explained that the project aims to complete the expansion of the Dhamar-Sanaa road and reduce traffic accidents on this strategic route.
He noted that the first two phases of the project in the Rasaba section involved widening a 5.3-kilometer stretch at a cost of 620 million riyals, also funded by the Road Maintenance Fund. Al-Madani stated that the branch of the institution has implemented a series of projects within the governorate this year, including the rehabilitation of the Al-Sharq City market with asphalt paving and asphalting along 1,600 meters of road, at a cost of 300 million riyals. Maintenance work is currently underway on the Al-Sharq City – Atmah – Al-Dalil road, specifically the Al-Mahalalah – Al-Thuluth Market section, a 15-kilometer stretch, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund. Additionally, maintenance is being carried out on the first phase of the 30-kilometer Zarajah – Al-Qubtain – Al-Najlah – Al-Hamra road, funded jointly by a community initiative and the Road Maintenance Fund.
He further noted that the institution is also undertaking maintenance and repair work on the Al-Sharq City – Al-Jumah – Sitrane road, a 25-kilometer stretch, also funded by the Road Maintenance Fund. Furthermore, the branch is implementing a project to expand the axle load scale and is renovating and rehabilitating the Dhaf market in Jahran District, at a cost of 180 million riyals, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund. Al-Madani praised the efforts of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, the leadership of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, the Road Maintenance Fund, and the local authority for their attention to road maintenance and rehabilitation in the governorate.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Roads Authority branch, Engineer Bandar Salah, explained that the Authority is preparing to begin paving the northwestern ring road, north of the sports stadium, a 1,700-meter stretch with a width of seven meters, at a cost of 180 million riyals, funded by the local authority in the governorate.
He indicated that the project includes excavation, concrete work, backfilling, and asphalt paving, with the aim of reducing traffic congestion within the city and diverting vehicle and heavy transport traffic to the ring road.
