Discussing efforts to improve navigational services and the performance of the sectors operating at the Port of Hodeidah

A meeting at the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, today headed by the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, discussed efforts to improve navigation services and the performance of sectors operating in the port of Hodeidah.

The meeting, which included the Governor of Hodeidah, Muhammad Qahim, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Muhammad Al-Hashemi, and the head of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid Al-Washli, discussed developments related to the Israeli aggression targeting the port of Hodeidah, and avoiding the effects and repercussions of this attack on the conduct of the operational process and the continued reception of ships.

In the meeting, in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Land Transport Sector, Abdul Malik Abdul Karim, the Vice President of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Nasr Al-Nusairi, and the directors of the Maritime and Commercial Chamber and the offices operating in the port. The Minister of Transport and the Governor of Hodeidah heard from the officials of those authorities an explanation about the workflow and the extent of the smooth implementation of tasks related to reducing Procedures before shipping companies and facilitating current transactions.

They also listened to an explanation about the difficulties facing a number of sectors operating in the port of Hodeidah, and ways to address them according to a unified vision and joint coordination for the qualitative transformation of port services during the next stage.

The Minister of Transport praised the efforts of the leadership and employees of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and the entities working in the port to overcome the existing challenges and ensure the continuation of work with all partners in maritime and commercial activity despite the aggression and blockade that the ports were subjected to.

He stressed that the reckless Israeli aggression will not prevent us from carrying out responsibilities and carrying out duties, and working at a high pace to avoid what the enemies aim to obstruct the services of the Red Sea ports and try to disrupt the operational path in terms of capabilities and equipment.

Al-Durra reiterated the regular entry of ships, foodstuffs, and commercial goods to the docks of Hodeidah Port smoothly without any obstacles, and that the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and the Ports Corporation are working to mobilize all efforts that will raise the efficiency of port performance and reduce the entry of commercial ships and container ships.

For his part, the Governor of Hodeidah appreciated the effective efforts made by the Ministry of Transport, the Red Sea Ports Corporation and the sectors operating in the port of Hodeidah to improve the services of navigational and commercial activities and to embody the optimal image of the performance of the ports, which represent the main artery of the country.

While the head of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid Al-Washli, explained that the port of Hodeidah is operating at maximum capacity and in a safe manner, and that work crews are continuing their efforts to remove the waste resulting from the bombing of the Zionist aggression.

The meeting was attended by a number of general directors of the relevant departments of the Ports Corporation, and a number of directors and representatives of shipping companies.

After that, the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, and the Chairman of the Ports Corporation, Zaid Al-Washli, were briefed on the operational process at the port and the ship docking berths.

They listened to an explanation from the Engineering Department and the contractor of the Pier No. 5 rehabilitation and maintenance project, about the level of project implementation.

Al-Durra urged those in charge of the project to adhere to the specifications, quality of work, and timetable for delivery according to the contract signed between the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the implementing contractor.
