Discussing the Difficulties Facing the Public Works Sector in Sana’a Governorate

A meeting in Sana’a Governorate today, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Governorate’s Local Authority, Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani, discussed the difficulties facing the progress of public works in the governorate center and districts.
The meeting, which included the Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs, Engineer Saleh Al-Muntasir; the Director of the Governor’s Office, Saddam Al-Fasih; the Governorate’s Public Works Sector Official, Engineer Mohammed Ashiyah; and the Director of the New Sana’a District, Abdullah Al-Marouni, addressed the issue of encroachments on public funds and ways to overcome them by implementing plans for vacant lands.
The attendees, in the presence of the President of the New Sana’a Court, Judge Khaled Shams Al-Din; the President of the Public Funds Court, Judge Mohammed Al-Kahlani; and the Public Works Department officials in the New Sana’a and Bani Matar districts, recommended the establishment of a prosecution office for violations and the allocation of a judge to receive cases from the Public Works Department, whether from the General Administration or the Directorates.
The meeting also included specialized engineers with experience and competence to handle and resolve the cases submitted. They stressed the need to complete pending court cases, work to limit encroachment on public funds, and monitor the implementation of unplanned land plans.
They emphasized the importance of the Public Prosecution’s engagement with complaints submitted to it and unifying efforts between the Land Authority and the Public Works Sector in the governorate and its directorates.
