Discussing the Plan to Regulate Taxi Operations in the Capital Municipality

Today’s meeting, chaired by the Director-General of the Traffic Police, Major General Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi, discussed the steps and procedures taken to regulate the operation of taxis in sorting and routing in the Capital Municipality.
The meeting, which included the committee charged with regulating the operation of taxis in sorting and routing in the Municipality, addressed the problems facing traffic due to the increased number of buses operating on these routes and the proposed solutions.
The meeting emphasized the need to regulate sorting and routing to reduce congestion and provide a more organized work environment.
The meeting reviewed the Traffic Police’s plan to reorganize and distribute internal transportation (taxis) to cover all neighborhoods and areas of the capital, to serve citizens and facilitate their movement. It also emphasized the need to rehabilitate sorting and passenger drop-off areas in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Public Works.
The Traffic Police Director indicated that the plan comes in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Interior’s leadership, and its commitment to enhancing traffic safety and improving the level of internal transportation services.
He emphasized that the Traffic Police is committed to implementing the plan in cooperation with various relevant authorities, praising the interaction of bus drivers and the community’s response to this step, which will achieve mutual benefits for all.
