Discussion on Coordination Between the Public Works Office and the Public Prosecution to Control Illegal Construction

 

A meeting was held today in Ibb Governorate, chaired by the Head of the Governorate’s Appeals Prosecution, Judge Abdulrahman Al-Nuzaili, to discuss the challenges hindering the work of the Public Works Office and the coordination mechanism for controlling violations and protecting Ibb City from illegal construction.

At the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Prosecutor for Violations and Traffic in the Governorate, Judge Abdullah Al-Ahdal, and the Director of the Public Works Office, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, Judge Al-Nuzaili emphasized the importance of the Public Works Office’s leadership and staff being mindful of divine oversight in the responsibilities entrusted to them.

He stressed the need for everyone to redouble their efforts to complete transactions that have met the required procedures, affirming the Public Prosecution’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities to achieve justice and the public interest.

For his part, Judge Al-Ahdal reviewed the obstacles related to the work of the Public Works Office that must be addressed in the coming period, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to the Building Law and its implementing regulations. Meanwhile, the Director of the Public Works Office in the governorate expressed his appreciation for the attention and follow-up given by the Head of the Public Prosecution and the Deputy Prosecutor for Violations and Traffic to the work of the Public Works Office. He outlined the most significant problems hindering the office’s operations and the urgent need for cooperation from the Public Prosecution to resolve them.

He emphasized that the Public Works Office is committed to improving performance and strengthening oversight to protect the city and ensure organized urban expansion that preserves Ibb’s identity and beauty.

The meeting concluded with several recommendations, most notably holding regular meetings between the Public Works Office and the Public Prosecution to discuss difficulties, resolve cases in a way that serves the public interest, and coordinate between the Public Works Office and the Public Prosecution to address emerging violations.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Directors of Public Works, branch directors of the Public Works Offices, and department heads.
