Dr. Al-Barashy Checks on the Health of Injured Traffic Police Officers

The Director-General of Traffic Police, Major General Dr. Bakil Al-Barashy, today checked on the health of four traffic police officers receiving treatment for injuries sustained while performing their national and humanitarian duty in the Bani Salama pass on the Hodeidah-Dhamar road. The injuries occurred as a result of a sudden rockslide while responding to a train accident.

Dr. Al-Barashy, along with the Director of Traffic in Dhamar Governorate, Colonel Ahmed Shaaban, and the Director of Financial Affairs, Colonel Majed Salman, listened to a briefing from doctors on the level of medical and therapeutic care provided to the injured and the stability of their health.

The Director-General of Traffic Police praised the sense of responsibility and dedication of the traffic police officers who risked their lives while performing their duty to secure the road and respond to the train accident, despite the dangerous location and the sudden rockslides that resulted in the injury of four of them. He considered the heroic stance to reflect the essence of traffic work, which is based on sacrifice and benevolence in serving people, and to embody the religious and humanitarian values embodied by traffic police personnel.

He said, “These men were not deterred by dangers from performing their duty, and were at the forefront to protect people and secure the road, despite their awareness of the risks.” He explained that the accident confirms that a traffic officer is not merely an employee performing administrative duties, but rather a field soldier who bears the burden and sacrifices himself for others.

Dr. Al-Barashy confirmed that the injured will be officially honored in a manner befitting their sacrifices and noble humanitarian stance.

He expressed the pride of the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and the Traffic Police in the sacrifices of the soldiers in performing their duty without hesitation, despite the rugged terrain and the dangerous situation.

Furthermore, the Director General of Traffic inspected the traffic patrols damaged by the rockslide and directed the technical teams at the General Traffic Department to prepare a comprehensive technical report on the losses and damages incurred by traffic vehicles and equipment, and to provide alternatives to ensure the continued performance of field duties.
