Event by the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation and Sectors Operating at Hodeidah Port Commemorating the Martyr of the Quran for the Year 1447 AH

The Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, along with the branches of the Standards and Metrology Authority, the Maritime Affairs Authority, and the Hodeidah Port Customs, organized a commemorative event today, Wednesday, Sha’ban 2, 1447 AH (January 21, 2026), to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the Martyr of the Quran, for the year 1447 AH.
At the event, Ahmed al-Bashari, First Deputy Governor of Hodeidah, described the martyrdom of Sayyid Hussein al-Houthi as a tragedy and a great loss for the nation, and a direct attack on truth and the comprehensive, enlightened, realistic, civilizational, and ethical Quranic project, which the martyred leader presented as a practical plan to save the nation and rescue it from the quagmire of humiliation, weakness, and loss during a sensitive and critical period in its history.
He pointed to the role of the martyred leader, who emerged as a voice for truth, particularly in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, which were planned by America and orchestrated by Zionism as a pretext for occupying nations and waging wars on Iraq and Afghanistan. This was accompanied by the killing of millions of Muslims, the violation of their honor, and the perpetration of the most heinous crimes that shame humanity.
Al-Bishri drew attention to the tragic reality that befell the Muslim world at that time, under a systematic targeting and a comprehensive war in which America acted with impunity and interfered in the affairs of other countries, met with shameful Islamic silence, impotence, and surrender.
It was a time when solutions were absent, fear prevailed, and silence reigned.
He explained that the martyred leader was the man of the hour, breaking the wall of silence and dispelling fear. He offered a practical solution in a time when solutions were absent, and he emerged on the battlefield as a resounding mujahid, confronting the arrogant powers with the cry of “The Cry” and the slogan of disavowal of the enemies of God.
At the event, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works, Alawi al-Houthi, and the Deputy Governor of Hodeidah for Services Affairs, Muhammad Halisi, the Deputy Chairman of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Nasr Abdullah al-Nusairi, praised the practical Quranic project presented by the martyred leader. Through this project, he laid the foundations for a Quranic nation based on knowledge of God and trust in Him, correcting misconceptions and distorted cultures, as a way of life offering salvation and deliverance for the nation from its dark reality.
He pointed to the greatness of the values and principles that the martyred leader carried in his call to rectify the nation’s situation and return to God and the Holy Quran, to achieve dignity and success, and to liberate it from American and Zionist guardianship and subservience, and from submission to Jews and Christians, and from allying with the enemies of God. Al-Nusairi addressed the journey of the Quranic project, explaining how it began on a limited scale amidst challenges, disinformation campaigns, and wars, then expanded to become a project for the entire nation, having triumphed over its enemies in the most complex circumstances, culminating in the current stage of confronting the Saudi-Emirati and American-Zionist aggression.
He highlighted the lessons of steadfastness, awareness, and resistance to tyranny embodied in the memory of the martyr of the Quran, and the values it represents, which the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation invokes in its work and national responsibilities.
The Deputy Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation explained that the corporation faced immense challenges as a result of the Zionist-American targeting it endured, preceded by Saudi-Emirati aggression, and repeated attempts to disrupt its services and paralyze its vital role.
He said, “Despite the damage, pressures, and direct and indirect targeting that the institution has suffered, thanks to God, and then to the awareness of its leadership and the steadfast efforts of its staff, it has continued to work on maintaining performance and operation, preserving the readiness of facilities and services, overcoming difficulties, and strengthening the national role of ports in serving the Yemeni people.”
Al-Nusairi pledged that steadfastness in the service and economic sectors is a practical extension of the spirit of the Quranic project of the martyr Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, with its profound meanings embodied in a project of dignity, liberation, and rejection of guardianship, and in shouldering responsibility with unwavering resolve and awareness, no matter how great the challenges.
For his part, Sheikh Ali Somel, head of the Scholars Unit in the province, affirmed that the truth has been revealed after the enemies of the nation and Yemen employed every method of deception and distortion against the project of the martyr of the Quran and the slogan of disavowal of the Jews and the enemies of Islam.
He stated that the exceptional historical stance led by the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, along with the free people of Yemen, in support of their Palestinian brothers and in confronting America and Israel, represents practical proof of the correctness of the Quranic project.
Sheikh Somel pointed out that the project of the martyred leader has achieved significant gains in the pursuit of the goals for which he struggled and for which he sacrificed his life, to enlighten the nation about the dangers lurking around it. He explained that the Yemeni stance in support of the Palestinian people, in contrast to the betrayal and abandonment by Arab regimes, is clear evidence of the project’s sincerity and its continued resistance against the forces of global arrogance.
He said, “The facts and events, including the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and the inaction of Arab regimes, have proven that the way out of this dark reality lies in the Quranic project established by the martyred leader, as a true methodology for confronting tyranny and achieving victory over the forces of injustice, regardless of their size, equipment, or disparity in capabilities.”
Somal pointed out that the Yemenis, more than 24 years after the launch of the Quranic project, are today embodying positions of pride and dignity in support of Palestine, through marches, vigils, tribal meetings, campaigns to boycott American and Israeli products, and consolidating awareness towards the true enemy of the nation.
The event, attended by the directors of the Standards Authority branch, Khalil al-Jawfi, and the port customs office, Abdullah Habib, as well as employees of the corporation and other sectors operating at Hodeidah Port, included poetry recitations and songs commemorating the occasion.
The family of the martyr leader, Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, was also honored with the Red Sea Ports Corporation shield, which was received by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mr. Alawi Yahya al-Houthi.
Following this, the Deputy Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Nasr al-Nusairi, and a number of the corporation’s employees visited the Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi Martyr of the Quran Exhibition in Hodeidah, viewing its contents as part of efforts to embody and commemorate the meanings and values represented by the anniversary of his martyrdom.
