First Aid and Occupational Safety Training Course for Central Workshop Staff at the General Authority for Roads

 

A training course on the fundamentals of first aid and occupational safety began today at the General Authority for Roads and Bridges.

The four-day course, organized by the Authority in cooperation with the Yemeni Red Crescent, aims to equip 40 participants from the staff and employees of the Authority’s central workshop with the essential knowledge and skills to deal with accidents and injuries in the workplace.

At the opening of the course, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, emphasized the importance of the course in raising awareness of occupational safety and the fundamentals of first aid, which everyone should be familiar with, especially those working in executive bodies, foremost among them the General Authority for Roads and Bridges.

He explained that the course targets 40 staff members from the central workshop as a first phase, to be followed by subsequent phases, with the goal of eventually including all workshop staff and employees of the Authority’s general executive departments. Engineer Al-Hadrami urged participants to make the most of the course content and to apply it in their practical work, both at their workplaces and in the field.

The course covers essential topics including the fundamentals of first aid, occupational safety and hazards, accident scene assessment and first responder safety in the workplace, basic CPR and managing choking, first aid for wounds, bleeding, burns and shock, as well as managing bone and joint injuries and poisoning.
