First Deputy PM , Reviewing the Activities of the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority

First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, along with the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir, reviewed the activities and investment opportunities of the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority today.
Sheikh Miftah, Qahim, and Al-Amir listened to an explanation from the Authority’s leadership about its tasks and roles in the field of mineral exploration and geological studies, the most prominent challenges it faces, and the promising investment opportunities that could constitute an important tributary to the national economy, given Yemen’s diverse and under-utilized mineral resources.
The First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the Authority’s role in serving sustainable development plans and national sovereignty over natural resources, noting that attention to the geological and cognitive aspects of these resources represents one of the foundations of construction and change.
The Minister of Oil and Minerals indicated that the ministry is working to develop the Authority’s institutional and technical structure and update geological databases to contribute to attracting targeted investments and enhancing transparency in mineral resources management.
For his part, the Minister of Transport and Public Works praised the integrated roles of government agencies in achieving balanced development, emphasizing the importance of geological information in supporting infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of transportation, roads, and ports.
Also, Allamah Muftah and the Ministers of Transport and Public Works and Oil and Minerals visited the Authority’s Geological Museum, where they viewed the exhibits and rare mineral and rock samples, which document the natural richness and geological diversity of the Republic of Yemen.
