Hajjah: Inspection of the Implementation of Two Road Projects in Kahlan Afar, Part of Two Community Initiatives

 

Abdulwahab Sinan, a representative of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit in Hajjah, inspected the progress of two road initiative projects in Kahlan Afar District.

He reviewed the progress of the project to open and reopen the Bani Al-Tarbi-Arshan Road, which connects Kahlan Afar District in Hajjah with Al-Ashmur District in Amran Governorate. The road is seven kilometers long and costs 42 million and 293 thousand riyals, with support from the Central Interventions Unit, the governorate’s local authorities, and the community.

Sinan listened to an explanation from the Executive Director of the Kahlan Afar Multipurpose Agricultural Association, Engineer Atef Al-Jaboubi, about the 60 percent completion rate. He also reviewed the progress of the Qaa’ Al-Baytain – Bait Abdullah Road project in Azzan District. The 1.8-kilometer road, costing 18 million and 172 thousand riyals, was supported by the Interventions Unit, the local authority, and the community, with a 90 percent completion rate.

The representative of the Interventions Unit emphasized the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development’s commitment to supporting community-based road initiatives, appreciating the role of the governorate’s local authority in overcoming difficulties and providing the necessary equipment to complete the projects.
