Head of Roads Authority Inspects Progress on Al-Kadan Bridge Completion Project in Hodeidah

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, and Member of Parliament Ali Bagawi, inspected today the progress of work on the Al-Kadan Bridge completion project and the protection works on the (Bajil – Al-Kadan – Al-Dahhi) road in Hodeidah Governorate, at a cost of 283,741,000 riyals. Accompanied by the Director of Bridges and Construction at the Authority, Engineer Adnan Ibrahim, the Director of the Authority’s Hodeidah branch, Engineer Ibrahim Sharaf Al-Din, and a number of other officials, they inspected the completed work on the bridge completion project. This included the installation of rubber bearings, site leveling, removal of trees obstructing work, installation of curbs and precast slabs, pouring of sclere slabs for the abutment walls, pouring concrete for the span diaphragms, main slabs, pedestrian walkway, and guardrail, among other works.

During During the visit, Engineer Al-Hadrami emphasized the importance of completing this vital bridge, which is 112 meters long and 16 meters wide, in protecting citizens, vehicles, and transport trucks from flash floods that flow through the valley where the bridge is located.

He pointed out that the project, implemented by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges with funding and supervision from the Road Maintenance Fund, is a priority project and enjoys the attention of the leadership and the government due to its importance in alleviating the suffering of citizens and facilitating their movement.

The head of the Authority explained that the Authority’s technical teams began work on the project last October and were able to complete 90 percent of it in record time, while adhering to the technical and engineering specifications and the quality of the work performed.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament praised the efforts of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges in implementing vital infrastructure projects, especially roads and bridges, which are a fundamental pillar for achieving development in the governorate.
