Ibb Governor Inspects Progress on Martyrs’ Roundabout – Peace Street Road Project

Ibb Governor Abdulwahid Salah inspected the progress of the Martyrs’ Roundabout – Peace Street road project at the Jabalah intersection in Al-Mashnah District, and its connecting streets, today.
Governor Salah, accompanied by the head of the Public Works Department in the governorate, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, and the director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund, Adel Omar, listened to a briefing from those in charge of the project regarding the progress of excavation, compaction, and surveying work on the 1,782-meter-long, 16-meter-wide road, at an estimated cost of 200 million riyals. The project includes the construction of concrete slabs and asphalt sections, and is being undertaken through a community initiative by the residents of the area.
The governor emphasized that the project represents a significant addition to the infrastructure in Al-Mashnah District, contributing to improved traffic flow and reduced congestion, in addition to serving citizens and connecting residential neighborhoods more smoothly. He praised the efforts of the Public Works sector and the engagement of the local community, which played a pivotal role in launching and implementing this service initiative.
The Governor of Ibb explained that the local authority prioritizes road projects due to their direct impact on facilitating citizens’ lives and supporting economic and service activities. He noted that community initiatives are a cornerstone of development projects and reflect the spirit of solidarity and shared responsibility between the state and the community.
For his part, the head of the Public Works sector in the governorate explained that the project is being implemented according to approved technical specifications and under direct engineering supervision to ensure quality execution and the road’s sustainability.
He emphasized the Public Works sector’s commitment to overcoming any technical or logistical challenges and providing the necessary equipment to guarantee the project’s timely completion.
Meanwhile, Dr. Magdi Al-Musannaf, representing the community initiative, expressed his appreciation for the local authority’s leadership and its ongoing support for community initiatives, including providing some of their requirements. He affirmed that the project embodies the awareness of the region’s residents regarding the importance of collaborative work in serving the public interest. He pointed out that the initiative came in response to an urgent need to improve the road, expressing his hope that it would be a model to be followed in the various districts of the governorate.
