Joint Field Visit by the “Yemen Travelers” Team and Hodeidah Traffic Department for Traffic Awareness

the “Yemen Travelers” Team conducted a joint field visit with the Hodeidah Governorate Traffic Department, targeting intersections and roundabouts within Hodeidah City. This visit is part of an awareness program to promote traffic safety among drivers, especially motorcyclists.
During the visit, team members distributed flowers and water to traffic officers in appreciation of their efforts. They also distributed awareness brochures to drivers and provided direct guidance on the importance of adhering to traffic rules and maintaining their own safety and the safety of others.
Before the field visit, a meeting was held at the governorate’s Security Department headquarters, attended by the Director of Security, Major General Aziz Al-Jaradi; the Director of Traffic, Colonel Mohammed Al-Nuwaira; the Head of the “Yemen Travelers” Team, Raouf Qutaibi; and a number of stakeholders from both sides.
During the meeting, Major General Al-Jaradi emphasized the importance of youth initiatives in serving the community, expressing the security leadership’s support for targeted awareness-raising projects and its willingness to provide the necessary facilities for their success, achieving the shared goal of reducing traffic accidents.
Colonel Al-Nuwaira pointed out the regulations and procedures included in the motorcycle violations list, issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (33) of 1446 AH, which contribute to improving road safety, emphasizing the importance of direct awareness in enhancing compliance.
For his part, the team leader reviewed the initiative’s plan, which includes the city of Hodeidah and external directorates, including long-distance routes. It includes field awareness campaigns, the distribution of guidance materials, and interaction with citizens in the field.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Guidance and Public Relations at the Governorate Police, Lieutenant Colonel Bassam Al-La’i, the team coordinator, Dr. Fouad Al-Hillah, and the Director of Traffic for the Bayt Al-Faqih Directorate, Captain Mustafa Fattah. This step comes as part of the Hodeidah Security and Traffic Department’s efforts to enhance cooperation with civil society organizations and empower youth to effectively contribute to achieving comprehensive traffic safety.
