Launching a campaign to manufacture dairy products from natural milk in Hodeidah

The Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment, Eng. Moeen Al-Mahaqri, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Ayash Qahim, and the Governor of Hodeidah, Abdullah Ahmed Atifi, launched today a campaign to launch the manufacture of dairy products from natural milk in Hodeidah.
During the inauguration, Minister Al-Mahaqri praised the efforts of dairy factories in Hodeidah in making the experience of localizing the dairy industry from natural milk a success.. Expressing his satisfaction with the production of 10 products from 100 percent natural milk.
He stressed the ministry’s support for dairy factories to expand production operations and introduce natural milk into new products.. Stressing the importance of dairy factories developing plans to expand production operations from natural milk, taking into account the absorption of increased milk production from dairy cooperatives, and setting export plans among the priorities of marketing plans.
The Minister of Economy pointed out the importance of dairy factories cooperating with associations to accelerate the process of transporting surplus milk to dairy factories in the capital, Sana’a, and Taiz Governorate.. Pointing to the incentives provided by the new investment law for local products, especially products based on local raw materials, in addition to providing protection for the local product.
He explained that the ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, is working to implement the livestock development project within the economic empowerment program, and to generalize the successful experience in Al-Hodeidah Governorate to the rest of the governorates.
Al-Mahqari also stressed the importance of dairy factories shifting towards using renewable energy to reduce production costs, and benefiting from the incentives provided in this regard by exempting these factories from profit tax equivalent to the costs of these projects.. Noting that the ministry has a directive to localize about 20 food products and use local raw materials according to gradual and studied plans.
For his part, the Minister of Transport and Public Works considered the launch of the dairy products industry from natural milk an important step to enhance and develop the partnership between dairy production plants and cooperative societies, noting that the campaign would encourage farmers and productive families to develop and expand production operations in a way that improves the sources of income for thousands of families.
He praised the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Economy in enhancing cooperation and partnership between the government and the private sector and creating an environment that encourages investment and develops local production operations.
Qahim stressed that the campaign is a major step towards a qualitative leap and establishes a new stage for national production industries to shift towards using local raw materials, especially food industries based on animal and agricultural production inputs.
In turn, the Governor of Hodeidah confirmed the local authority’s readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to the campaign and to overcome the difficulties facing dairy production plants and cooperative societies to produce natural milk and enhance coordination and cooperation between them, which would contribute to expanding production operations for products based on natural milk inputs.
He pointed out the importance of establishing model collection centers to receive fresh milk from dairy producers through cooperative societies, and to work on providing the required guidance to develop milk production operations.
In turn, representatives of dairy factories expressed their readiness to develop and expand natural milk production operations, as well as cooperate with cooperative societies by developing milk collection centers, and providing milk transport tanks to dairy factories outside Hodeidah Governorate.
The Minister of Economy, Industry, Investment, Transport and Public Works, along with the Governor of Hodeidah, opened an exhibition of dairy products from natural milk.
They praised the quality of the products, stressing that this successful experience encourages the development and expansion of these important national industries that benefit society and the national economy.
The inauguration and opening of the exhibition were attended by the Undersecretaries of Hodeidah Governorate for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Mohammed Al-Nahari, and Services Affairs, Mohammed Al-Hulaisi, and the Director of the Economy and Industry Office in Hodeidah, Saleh Mohammed, and representatives of natural milk production associations and the Advisor to the Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment, Mohammed Al-Siddiq
