Meeting at the Ministry of Transport discusses the damage caused by overloading on Hajjah roads

A meeting held at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, headed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdulrahman Jama’i, discussed the damage caused by floods, rock collapses, and overloading of heavy transport locomotives on Hajjah Governorate roads.
The meeting, which included the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Muhammad Qahim, the Governor of Hajjah, Hilal al-Sufi, and the Member of Parliament, Ali Hiba Mansari, stressed the need to establish an effective mechanism to preserve the roads entering and exiting the governorate, as well as the Hajjah-Sana’a road, by subjecting overloaded locomotives to the axle balance law.
The meeting stressed the need to enhance cooperation between the various concerned parties in the governorate and the Ministry of Transport and Public Works in educating locomotive drivers and the community about preserving roads and participating in the restoration of those damaged by rain and floods.
The meeting pointed out the need to activate community participation in the restoration and maintenance of roads, adhere to engineering specifications and standards, and obtain a geological opinion before implementing any road project to avoid any errors that may cause disasters.
