Meeting Chaired by Sheikh Muftah Approves Four Strategic Road Maintenance Projects in Ibb Governorate

A meeting held today in Ibb Governorate, chaired by Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Muftah, approved the implementation and maintenance of four strategic and vital road projects in the governorate, at a total cost of 4.5 billion riyals.
The meeting, which was attended by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim, Governor of Ibb Abdulwahid Salah, Secretary-General of the Governorate Amin Al-Warrafi, Head of the Road Maintenance Fund Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, and Head of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, emphasized the importance of these projects, which aim to rehabilitate the main entrances to the governorate and improve the main road network connecting Ibb Governorate with the rest of the governorates. The approved projects include four vital road routes. The first involves the maintenance and rehabilitation of the strategic 30th Street West, jointly funded equally by the local authority and the Road Maintenance Fund. The second project includes comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation of the main street in the city, and the third involves completing maintenance and repair work on the Ibb-Al-Udayn road.
The fourth project involves the maintenance and rehabilitation of the main Taiz-Souq Shaban-Al-Najd Al-Ahmar road, fully funded by the Road Maintenance Fund.
Following the meeting, the Acting Prime Minister and his delegation visited several main streets and entrances in the governorate’s capital to closely examine the extent of the damage and the urgent maintenance needs, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate the flow of traffic.
Allama Muftah emphasized that the approved projects are part of the government’s reform and development plans and reflect the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership to give Ibb Governorate special attention due to its geographical location and population density. He emphasized to those in charge of and implementing the projects the importance of adhering to high technical and engineering specifications and expediting completion to ensure their role in facilitating the movement of the governorate’s residents and travelers.
For his part, Minister Qahim explained that the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, represented by the General Authority for Roads, will dedicate all necessary resources and adhere to technical standards and specifications to guarantee the sustainability of these projects. He also noted the level of coordination between the Fund and the local authority, which he described as a successful model for implementing development projects.
Governor Salah expressed his gratitude for the attention and support given to Ibb Governorate by the revolutionary and political leadership and the government of change and reconstruction. He highlighted the importance of service projects and their impact on alleviating the suffering of citizens and facilitating movement between the tourist-oriented Ibb Governorate and other governorates.
Engineer Al-Haifi confirmed that work will commence next month according to the planned phases, while continuing to complete the work currently underway.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Governorate’s Public Works Office, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, the Development Team Coordinator, Engineer Diaa Abdullah Mohsen, and a number of officials and engineers from relevant agencies.
