Meteorologists expect thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by hail

The National Center of Meteorology expected thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by hail at times, on the mountainous heights, the interior plateaus and parts of the western coast and the deserts during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that moderate to heavy rains are expected in separate areas of the mountainous heights from Saada Governorate in the north to Lahj Governorate in the south.
He indicated that the rains may extend to parts of the interior hills of the governorates of Al-Dhalea, Al-Bayda, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramout and Al-Mahra, and to parts of the western coast and the adjacent interior areas.
According to the center, light to medium rain may fall on parts of the deserts of Hadramawt, Shabwa, Al-Jawf and Marib governorates.
The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to avoid being in torrents and valleys, calling not to use mobile phones during lightning.
It also warned motorists on mountain slopes and western coastal plains of reduced visibility due to heavy rain or the formation of fog, rockslides and mudslides.
The center alerted sea-goers, fishermen and captains of small ships in the Socotra archipelago of sea turbulence and high waves as a result of strong wind speed.
The center explained that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours in some weather monitoring stations amounted to: 13.4 mm in Dhamar, Al-Siddah: 10.3 mm, Hajjah: 7.6, Al-Ma’afer: 5.6
