Milk Tanker Truck Launched in Hodeidah

A milk tanker truck was launched today in Hodeidah Governorate. The truck, provided by the United Dairy and Food Industries Company (Nana Factory), in coordination with the Agricultural Cooperative Union, is valued at 30 million riyals.

This step comes within the framework of supporting the value chain for dairy products and enhancing the infrastructure for transporting milk from collection areas to neighboring factories, according to health and safety standards.

At the launch, Saleh Atifa, Director of the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment in the Governorate, explained that the operation of this truck is a practical step to support dairy industry localization projects by providing a refrigerated means of transportation that preserves the quality and safety of the milk until it reaches the manufacturing and processing facilities. He stated that this step falls within the efforts aimed at developing the milk production chain at the governorate level and achieving optimal utilization of livestock in Tihama. He praised the Nana factory’s initiative and its engagement with the trend of supporting local production.

Atifa stated that the 25,000-liter tanker, equipped with modern cooling systems, represents a qualitative leap in the transportation of milk from smallholdings and farms to dairy factories, within a safe and healthy environment that contributes to reducing waste and improving the nutritional value of the final product.

For his part, Ahmed Heij, Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch in the governorate, emphasized the importance of the truck in relieving pressure on collection points and developing the milk transportation system, as it is a key link in the dairy production chain. He noted that its design took into account the hot climate of Tihama and was equipped with a cooling system that maintains product quality during transportation.

He indicated that the project will contribute to linking farmers with manufacturing plants in an organized manner, enhance local market confidence in natural dairy products, and expand the scope of utilization of livestock in dairy production. Hej appreciated the cooperation of the governorate’s dairy factories in receiving the natural milk and contributing to the success of this project, which enhances reliance on local resources and improves the livelihoods of producers.

For his part, the director of the Nana factory, Abdullah Al-Idrisi, highlighted the importance of using refrigerated tanks to transport milk, as it is a sensitive product that requires special care from the moment it is produced until it reaches the consumer.
He explained that the factory is keen to increase production efficiency and expand its capacity, while strengthening partnerships with local farmers and breeders to ensure high-quality natural milk.

The inauguration was attended by a number of representatives of agricultural associations and relevant authorities in the governorate.
