Minister of Finance and Economy visit the port of Hodeidah and inspect the work with a number of facilities in it

Thursday 16 Rabi Al -Awwal 1446 AH, corresponding to September 19, 2024 AD at the Red Sea Ports Corporation in Al -Hodeidah Governorate, headed by the Finance Minister Abdul Jabbar Ahmed Mohamed, and the economy, industry and investment, Engineer Moeen Al -Mahqari, discussed the progress of work in the port of Hodeidah and mechanisms for enhancing full coordination between the offices operating in it.
The meeting, which included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works for Maritime Affairs and Ports, Captain Mohamed Ishaq and CEO of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Professor Zaid Al -Washli, and the Undersecretary of Al -Hodeidah Governorate for Services Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Al -Haysi, to the aspects related to finding means and mechanisms and providing infrastructure to increase export opportunities, especially in the field Agricultural.

He stressed the necessity of concerted efforts to raise the efficiency and absorptive and operational capacity of the port in the context of an integrated plan that includes the study of technical aspects, construction projects and everything related to the aspects of development and modernization of the port.

During the meeting, the Minister of Finance stressed that the visit to the port comes within the directions of the government of change and construction and in the context of its vision to develop and modernize the port.
He pointed to the importance of coordination and complementarity between the management of the Ports Corporation and the offices concerned, whether the Customs Office, as well as the Office of the Standards and Metrology Authority to achieve and rid the goods during record periods.
Minister Abdul -Jabbar pointed out that the Ministry of Finance will be a help to manage the institution and will work to facilitate and simplify the financial procedures for the institution in a manner that guarantees the smoothness and flow of work in the port.

He stressed the need to prepare integrated electronic evidence within the framework of the one window that includes the periods of time needed to complete all transactions and work to shorten the procedures to the minimum limits.

While the Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment stressed the importance of starting the implementation of urgent development projects for the port that contributes to increasing the capacity of the port through improving current sidewalks or creating new sidewalks, while developing strategic plans to develop and improve the port.
The minister pointed out the importance of working to address the causes and problems that lead to delaying the clearance of goods and simplifying and shortening procedures through a unified electronic window.
He also stressed that the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment will provide technical support for the Ports Corporation to work to develop work in the port and solve the problems it faces .. indicating that there are many steps and development projects that can be taken through the available means and tools.
He pointed to the importance of starting to translate the vision of the economic zone in the Ras Issa region, pointing to the governmental procedures for issuing the new investment law and the great incentives it contains to encourage and develop the societal economy and motivate national capital to invest as as well as attracting external investment.

The Minister of Economy explained that the new investment law will give special privileges to industries based on local raw materials, and that the data in this aspect are optimistic.
While the Undersecretary of the Maritime Affairs and Ports Sector, the Undersecretary of Al -Hodeidah Governorate and the head of the Red Sea Ports Corporation touched on a number of perceptions that are consistent with the leadership vision to create work to export local agricultural products and mechanisms that would achieve a qualitative leap in this regard.

To that, the Minister of Finance and Industry, along with the Undersecretary of the Ministry, the Governorate, and the leadership of the Ports Corporation, informed the progress of work on the sidewalks, and the damages that affected the port of Hodeidah, including the bridge hips, as a result of the bombing of the Israeli aggression of the port.

They also reviewed the activity of the sidewalks and the efforts made to receive ships and containers and to unload goods and mechanisms to keep up to enhance the service role of this vital artery, which is of great importance in providing the needs of the people of goods and goods.

They inspected with them the Executive Director of the Yemeni Authority for Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Sam, Sam Al -Bashiri, the progress of work in the branch of the authority in Al -Hodeidah Port, and the laboratory and goods examination devices, and listened from the branch manager Khalil Al -Joufi to an explanation about the mechanisms and system of control to examine food, goods and products mentioned through the port.
The Minister of Finance and Industry also inspected the progress of work in the customs of the port of Hodeidah, and the mechanism of work in completing transactions and facilitating customs procedures for traders and agents of navigation companies.
