Minister of Transport and Public Works and Deputy Minister of Information Discuss Aspects of Coordination and Institutional Integration

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and Deputy Minister of Information, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bakhiti, discussed today aspects of coordination and cooperation within the framework of strengthening institutional integration among the various ministries and entities of the Government of Change and Reconstruction.

The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works for the Roads Sector, Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, and for Public Works, Engineer Ali Rajih, and the Chairman of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, addressed the arrangements and preparations for holding a press conference regarding the damages and losses incurred by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works and its affiliated entities during the 11 years of aggression and blockade.

During the meeting, the Minister of Transport and Public Works and the Deputy Minister of Information emphasized their commitment to unifying efforts and working in accordance with the goals and program of the Government of Change and Reconstruction. This aims to ensure the strengthening and unification of institutional performance, address challenges, meet the demands of the current phase, and provide services to citizens while simplifying procedures for beneficiaries. They emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for the press conference to review the significant direct and indirect losses, and the extent of the damage inflicted on the infrastructure of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works sectors—including roads, bridges, ports, airports, land transport, and other vital facilities—as a result of the 11-year aggression and blockade against Yemen.

Qahim and Al-Bakhiti stressed the importance of coordinating with print, broadcast, and online media outlets to ensure comprehensive coverage and highlight all the damage and losses suffered by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works and its vital sectors, which are directly linked to serving the Yemeni people.

They explained that the American, Saudi, Emirati, and Israeli aggression targeted the destruction of the Yemeni people’s infrastructure and deliberately and systematically targeted the country’s economy to inflict maximum harm and suffering on the Yemeni people. The Minister of Transport and Public Works and the Deputy Minister of Information pointed out that despite the heavy losses and severe damage caused by the aggression and blockade, and the resulting serious repercussions on the lives and livelihoods of millions of Yemenis, the Yemeni people stood firm alongside their wise leadership, writing the most magnificent epics of resilience and steadfastness in the face of the forces of aggression, achieving significant victories on the military, security, economic, social, and other levels.

They stated that the Yemeni people, under their revolutionary and political leadership, were able to thwart all the aggression’s plans to violate and occupy the country and subjugate the Yemeni people to American and Israeli dictates. This culminated in their important role in supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza, defending the causes and holy sites of the nation, and joining the axis of jihad and resistance against the Zionist-American aggression against a number of Arab and Islamic peoples. During the meeting, a contract was signed between the General Authority for Roads and Bridges and the Road Maintenance Fund for the period 2026-2030, for the implementation of routine maintenance work on the asphalt road network in the Republic of Yemen, at a cost of 50 billion riyals.

The Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works for the Roads Sector and the Chairman of the General Authority for Roads reviewed the priority projects and works to be implemented in the coming period and their importance in improving and developing the road network and facilitating traffic and transportation between governorates and districts.
