Minister of Transport and Public Works inaugurates network connection with traffic police
The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and the Director General of Traffic, Major General Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi, today inaugurated the network connection and information integration between the Ministry and the General Department of Traffic Police, which contributes to organizing land transport.
They were briefed on the progress of work in a number of departments and sections, traffic services provided to citizens, and development and future projects of the Traffic Police.
Following the inauguration, the Minister of Transport and Public Works discussed with the Director of Traffic, in the presence of a number of leaders of the Ministry and the Traffic Police, a proposed project to provide free model rest stops for road users who are exposed to breakdowns or need to stop for prayer and rest on long roads.
Minister Qahim listened to an explanation from the Director of Traffic about the procedures implemented regarding the passenger pick-up and drop-off stations project, the project to rehabilitate and organize urban transport sorting, and the places where accidents recur and the proposed treatments for that.
The Minister of Transport and Public Works praised the qualitative leap witnessed by the Traffic Police in various fields.. expressing appreciation for the high performance of the traffic officers in organizing traffic.
He stressed the Ministry’s support and backing for the steps and procedures prepared by the Traffic Police to enhance traffic safety.. directing the Ministry’s specialists to cooperate with the Traffic Police and enhance coordination regarding making traffic improvements on the roads.
