Minister of Transport and Public Works inspects Police College Street restoration works and inaugurates transport parking lots in the Secretariat

Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Ayash Qahim inspected the maintenance and asphalt restoration works on Police College Street, extending beyond the Financial Bridge from the direction of Al-Sab’een.
The Minister, accompanied by the Director of the Public Works Office in the Secretariat, Engineer Abdul Salam Al-Jaradi, listened to the supervising engineers to explain the work being implemented in the project, which consists of restoring and maintaining the street, and laying an asphalt layer starting from in front of the Police College to beyond the Financial Bridge, with a length of one kilometer and a width of 14 meters, which is being implemented by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, with funding and supervision from the Road Maintenance Fund.
During the inauguration, the Minister of Transport and Public Works stressed the importance of the project in maintaining and restoring this vital street, which will contribute to facilitating traffic and reducing congestion.
He also stressed the keenness to implement maintenance and restoration projects for main roads and streets in the capital Sana’a and other governorates, which would reduce traffic congestion and serve citizens. He urged those in charge of the project to commit to implementing it according to the specifications and the specified time period.
Minister Qahim pointed out that road projects are among the most important infrastructure projects that the ministry is keen to implement during the coming period according to priority and available capabilities.
Following that, the Minister of Transport and Public Works inaugurated work on the first phase of land transport stops for passengers to board and disembark in the streets of Taiz, Haddah and Al-Zubairi in the Al-Sab’een District in the capital.
The first phase includes 132 transport stops for passengers to board and disembark in the three streets, including 53 stops on Haddah Street, 42 stops on Taiz Street, and 37 stops on Al-Zubairi Street.
During the inauguration, the Minister of Transport and Public Works noted the importance of this step to identify bus stops for passengers to board and disembark in three of the most important streets in the capital, which would contribute to alleviating traffic congestion there.
He pointed out that these works come within the framework of keenness to facilitate the services provided to citizens, and to find solutions and treatments for traffic congestion.
In addition, the Minister of Transport and Public Works made a field visit to closely examine the subject of the complaint submitted by a citizen in the Hashishiya neighborhood in the Shu’ub Directorate, as well as the complaint submitted by a citizen in the Naqam neighborhood in the Azal Directorate.
He directed the Public Works Office in the Secretariat to consider the complaints submitted by citizens and decide on them in accordance with the law.. stressing the keenness to interact with the issues and concerns of citizens and to find appropriate treatments for them.
