Minister of Transport and Public Works Inspects Rain Damage in Bani Salama Pass in Al-Manar, Dhamar

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Quhaim, today inspected the extent of rockslides and damage caused by heavy rains to the public asphalt road in Bani Salama Pass in Al-Manar District, Dhamar Governorate.
During the visit, Minister Quhaim heard from Engineer Mohammed Al-Madani, Director of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges in Dhamar Governorate, and Mohammed Jaaran, Director of Al-Manar District, about the damage that led to the road being cut off and traffic coming to a complete standstill, as well as the damage to transportation.
They also heard about the efforts made to save lives, provide first aid to the injured, remove damage and violations, and restore the road and traffic to normal.
Quhaim directed the immediate removal of all damage and debris, the repair of the main road and the Hammam Ali road, the treatment of the resulting effects, and the cleaning of flood drains.
He emphasized the importance of enhancing preparedness, mobilizing equipment, capabilities, and rescue teams, and taking the necessary measures to prepare for any emergency.
The Director of Al-Manar Directorate, Jaaran, praised the Minister of Transport and Public Works’ visit, which reflects the leadership’s interest and commitment to addressing the damage caused by disasters and alleviating the suffering of travelers.
He commended the efforts of the General Authority’s branch and the Road Maintenance Fund in overcoming the scale of the disaster, removing damage, and restoring and maintaining roads.
On the sidelines of the visit, a meeting was held, chaired by Minister Quhaim and attended by the directors of the Roads Authority branch and the Al-Manar Directorate, to discuss ways to address the effects of the rains on the Hammam Ali road and to identify priorities and emergency solutions.
