Minister of Transport and Public Works inspects the work to address the damage caused by the floods on the Sanaa-Marib road

Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim, Secretary of the Capital Dr. Hamoud Abbad, and Governor of Sana’a Abdul Basit Al-Hadi, inspected the emergency works on the Sana’a-Marib Road, the Al-Hataresh Market area in the Bani Hashish Directorate in the governorate and Bani Al-Harith in the capital, to address the damage caused by the floods.
Qahim, Abbad, and Al-Hadi, along with the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Sana’a Governorate, Abdul Qader Al-Jilani, listened to an explanation from the Director of Bani Hashish District, Rajih Al-Hanmi, about the damage to the road and the emergency work being done to alleviate the suffering of citizens, resulting from the deterioration of the main road in more than one area, especially Al-Hataresh Market, due to floods and the end of the asphalt layer. Qahim, Abbad, and Al-Hadi stressed the importance of expediting the leveling of the road, which represents the main entrance to the capital, Sana’a, from the northeast.
They assigned a committee of specialists from the ministry, the secretariat and the governorate to prepare an urgent study and develop appropriate solutions to rehabilitate the road and drain rainwater, before the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet, may the best prayers and peace be upon him and his family, to facilitate traffic to and from the rest of the governorates.
They were accompanied on the visit by the Undersecretary of the Capital Secretariat for the Projects Sector, Eng. Abdul Karim Al-Houthi, the Vice President of the Road Maintenance Fund, Eng. Nabil Al-Muayyad, the Director of Supervision at the Road Maintenance Fund, Eng. Bashir Al-Sanea, the Acting Executive Unit for Projects in the Governorate, Eng. Sami Al-Turabi, and a number of officials and specialists from the ministry, the secretariat and the governorate.
