Minister of Transport & Public Works and Governor of Hodeidah inspect progress at Hodeidah Port

 

Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim and Governor of Hodeidah Governorate Abdullah Otayfi today inspected the progress of work at Hodeidah Port’s docks and the mechanism for receiving cargo ships following the Zionist aggression against vital port facilities.

Qahim and Otayfi were briefed on the unloading of ships arriving at the port, the progress of work at the docks, and operational services, including the reception of cargo, despite the damage to infrastructure caused by direct Zionist bombing.

They heard from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid Al-Washli, and his Deputy, Nasr Al-Nusairi, an explanation of the measures implemented to maintain the operational path of port services, contain damage, and carry out emergency maintenance to ensure the continuity of unloading and handling operations.

During the visit, Minister Qahim praised the efforts of the engineering and technical personnel currently rehabilitating the damaged docks. He emphasized that repair work is proceeding rapidly and will be completed within a short period, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of goods.

He noted that the movement of ships and vessels is proceeding smoothly, and cargo is being unloaded smoothly. He commended the efforts of port workers who continue to work to ensure the continuity of services.

The Minister of Transport and Public Works indicated that the Zionist enemy’s targeting of the infrastructure and the capabilities of the Yemeni people reflects the state of helplessness and bankruptcy they have reached.

He emphasized that the aggression will not deter Yemenis from fulfilling their national duty and continuing their steadfastness.

For his part, the Governor of Hodeidah affirmed that the Zionist enemy’s targeting of the port constitutes a flagrant war crime, holding the enemy fully responsible for these attacks on civilian facilities.

He pointed out that the continued operation of the port reflects the competence of the technical and navigational crews, expressing appreciation and gratitude for the efforts of all port workers. Atifi affirmed that the governorate’s leadership, in coordination with the relevant authorities, will continue to support and monitor all steps aimed at ensuring the continuity of port activity, as it is the main lifeline for millions of Yemenis.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation explained that food supplies and all basic commodities are arriving at the port of Hodeidah without interruption, stressing that there are no delays in the entry of ships or the unloading of their cargo.

Al-Washli stated that ships are unloading their cargo around the clock, and that the reception and unloading schedules have not been affected, thanks to God and the high competence of the technical and navigational personnel working at the port.

The Minister of Transport and Public Works held a meeting led by the Red Sea Ports Corporation, attended by the Governor of Hodeidah and the Deputy Governor, Mohammed Halisi, to discuss emergency plans and measures to enhance the continued smooth flow of ships entering and unloading cargo.
