Minister of Transport & Public Works Inspects Progress at Hodeidah Port Docks

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, inspected the progress of work at Hodeidah Port Docks and the efforts made to facilitate, monitor, and regulate the entry and exit of ships to and from the docks.

During his visit to the port today, he listened to an explanation from the crews on duty about the work mechanism, ship scheduling, procedures followed to organize unloading operations, the smooth flow of maritime traffic following the port’s bombing by the Zionist-American aggression, and the measures taken to overcome any obstacles and ensure the delivery of essential supplies to the people.

Minister Qahim praised the efforts of the port’s personnel to ensure the continuity of maritime and commercial services, stressing that their steadfastness and continuous efforts represent a national model in confronting the repercussions of repeated Zionist attacks and the direct targeting of infrastructure.

He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to continuing field visits to monitor the performance of ports, particularly Hodeidah Port, which has suffered significant damage. He noted that the ministry prioritizes this sector to ensure the continuity of its service and economic role in serving the Yemeni people.

The Minister of Transport and Public Works highlighted the importance of Hodeidah Port as an economic and humanitarian facility and a major lifeline in Yemen. He also highlighted the interest of the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council in addressing the port’s conditions, and their ongoing directives to rehabilitate it and ensure its readiness to handle various circumstances and changes.

Qahim noted that a number of programs are planned to be implemented to enhance Hodeidah Port’s role in meeting the basic needs of the people and enhancing its technical and operational capacity to keep pace with the increasing volume of maritime traffic. He emphasized that challenges will not be an obstacle to national will, but rather a catalyst for further development to ensure the delivery of aid and goods.

He commended the professional commitment and high patriotic spirit he witnessed among the employees of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and its leadership, as well as the sense of responsibility and discipline exhibited by everyone, which had a significant impact on the continuity of operations within the port.
