The Ministry of Transport and Public Works commemorated Martyrs’ Day today with a ceremony honoring the families of martyrs from the Ministry and its affiliated bodies and institutions.
During the event, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works Yahya Al-Sayani, Chairman of the General Investment Authority Mohammed Ishaq, and heads of the Ministry’s affiliated bodies and institutions, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, stated that commemorating Martyrs’ Day is a reaffirmation of loyalty to those heroic men who fulfilled their covenant with God and sacrificed their lives for the nation so that it may enjoy dignity and honor.
He pointed out that the martyrs are the most faithful and self-sacrificing of people, shining stars in the nation’s darkest night. They are those who followed the path of truth and righteousness and attained the highest rank with God Almighty. The martyrs are beacons of light illuminating the paths of generations, the guarantee that has preserved the nation’s dignity and independence. With their blood, the land of Yemen was watered, yielding resilience and pride. Thanks to their sacrifice, the nation enjoys security, honor, and dignity today.
Engineer Al-Hadrami noted that the families of the martyrs are the epitome of generosity, virtue, and giving, the crown of honor and the badge of loyalty. They offered the most precious thing they possessed as a sacrifice for God and country. Through them, the banner of glory is raised high, and through their patience, the path of victory, honor, and dignity continues. He said, “We in the Ministry of Transport and Public Works stand with immense pride and reverence before the sacrifices of our martyred sons from the Ministry’s staff, agencies, and institutions, numbering 287, who served the nation in the fields of construction and development and then gave their lives in the fields of jihad, combining the building of the land with the protection of dignity.” He commended the efforts of the staff of the General Authority for Roads for their excellent preparation and organization of this event.
He added, “We stand here today to reaffirm our loyalty to their pure blood, considering that the annual commemoration of the martyr is not merely an annual event, but rather a covenant, a responsibility, and a renewal of our pledge to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs in all areas of giving, building, and dedicated work, both in the administrative and jihadist fields.” The head of the foundation reiterated the attention, support and care for the families of the martyrs, adding, “On behalf of the leaders of the ministry and its affiliated bodies, we renew our pledge to God, His Messenger and the martyrs that we will remain faithful to the path they took, and that we will carry their banner with action, sincerity and sacrifice for the sake of God, the homeland and the nation, and we will draw from their sacrifices the determination and strength to continue on the path of freedom and dignity.”
Dr. Qais Al-Tal, head of the Guidance Sector at the Capital Secretariat, expressed his profound respect for the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their loved ones for the sake of God’s word, so that Yemen might enjoy security, stability, and sovereignty. He noted that the martyrs stood against the enemies of God, the enemies of the homeland, and the nation, and that thanks to their sacrifices, Yemen has demonstrated honorable stances in support of Gaza and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He emphasized that martyrdom in the cause of God is the true meaning of life, for God has honored the martyrs with eternal life, making them alive in His presence and under His care. He explained that the martyr wishes others knew the honor he enjoys in that holy place.
Dr. Al-Tal stated that the martyrs acted for a cause worthy of their sacrifice, joining the ranks of the righteous. He affirmed that were it not for jihad in the path of God, the Americans would have controlled Yemen, and the Zionists would have occupied the region. He explained that, thanks to jihad and the sacrifices of the martyrs, Yemen now manufactures all types of weapons, inflicts heavy losses on American warships and aircraft carriers, and targets the heart of the Zionist enemy with missiles and drones. America and all the forces of arrogance fear it. He emphasized the importance of carrying the banner of the martyrs, as the nation is on the cusp of inevitable rounds of conflict with the Zionist enemy.
For his part, Al-Mutawakkil Al-Junaid, speaking on behalf of the families of the martyrs, addressed the importance of commemorating this anniversary to speak about the great lives of the martyrs, continuing a Quranic path whose founder was a martyr, whose president was a martyr, and whose prime minister, ministers, and chief of staff were all martyrs.
He affirmed that martyrdom is tranquility and security, a bright future, and the nation’s honor and dignity. It is a flood and a punishment for the enemies that will uproot them.
Al-Junaid stated that the great martyrs left behind a covenant and a testament, and a banner of truth that flies high, expressed by the martyr of Islam and humanity, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, when he said, “We are not defeated. When we triumph, we triumph, and when we are martyred, we triumph.” At the conclusion of the event, the Deputy Minister, the Chairman of the Roads Authority, and leaders of the Ministry’s affiliated bodies and institutions honored the family of the martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad with the Ministry’s shield, which was received by his son Fadl Saleh Al-Sammad.
