Ministry of Transport and Public Works Commemorates the Anniversary of the Martyr of the Quran

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works, along with its affiliated bodies and institutions, commemorated today the anniversary of the Martyr of the Quran, Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may God be pleased with him.
At the event, Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works, Yahya al-Sayani, emphasized the importance of commemorating this enduring memory in the life of the Yemeni people.
He said, “It is the memory of a man who was not merely a passing leader in the annals of time, but rather a cry of truth that resonated in the silence, a project for life that emerged in a time of subjugation, and a guiding light that shone forth to dispel the darkness of weakness that surrounded our nation.”
He explained that commemorating this anniversary transcends mere emotion, becoming a renewal of covenant and loyalty through adherence to the Quranic methodology, unity, and support for the nation’s causes, transforming it into tangible reality in individual conduct and the building of state institutions.
Al-Sayani pointed out that the martyred leader rose up during a period of widespread defeat, breaking the barrier of fear through his leadership and launching the slogan of the cry to restore the nation’s faith in its Lord and its eternal constitution (the Holy Quran).
He emphasized that the martyred leader’s project was neither sectarian nor factional, but rather presented a Quranic project as a universal framework that inspires action and liberates peoples from the shackles of subservience and humiliation, leading them to the realm of sovereignty and absolute freedom.
He explained that the martyred leader instilled in the collective consciousness that the Holy Quran is not merely verses to be recited, but a roadmap for action, a comprehensive guide for development, and a powerful weapon against tyranny. Through the writings and lessons he crafted with awareness and insight, he was able to diagnose the ailment afflicting the body of the nation, prescribing the effective remedy: a sincere return to God and adherence to the two weighty things (the Quran and the Ahlulbayt).
The Deputy Minister pointed out that the pure blood that watered the mountains of Maran was not shed in pursuit of power or prestige, but rather so that the nation might live in dignity and the banner of Islam might remain flying high, unbowed before the forces of global arrogance.
He also affirmed that the legendary steadfastness we witness today, and the awe-inspiring presence Yemen commands, are but the ripe fruits of those great sacrifices and the awareness that changed the course of history. He renewed the pledge to continue on the path of the martyred leader and to follow his example in supporting the truth and upholding the word of God, no matter the challenges.
For his part, cultural activist Ahmed Al-Washli affirmed that the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Quran represents a significant milestone in raising awareness and recalling his Quranic project, which restored the Book of God to its vital presence in the life of the nation.
He explained that the martyred leader did not treat the Quran merely as a text to be recited, but as a comprehensive way of life that addresses issues of faith and identity, and corrects the misconceptions that have plagued the nation through long periods of misguidance and deviation. He emphasized that the Quranic project was, in its essence, a project of reform and building for both the individual and society.
He pointed out that the martyred leader called for a return to authentic, realistic Islam, derived from the Holy Quran, which restores the nation’s dignity and honor and liberates its consciousness from subservience and dependency.
He noted that the responsibility of carrying this message is not limited to one group over another, but rather rests on everyone, especially scholars, intellectuals, and social leaders. Al-Washli explained that one of the most prominent issues the martyred leader focused on was the question of identity, considering it fundamental in confronting projects of corruption and hegemony.
He emphasized that the resilience and awareness Yemen is witnessing today are the fruits of that Quranic project, to which the Yemeni people responded with sincerity and faith.
He affirmed that commemorating this anniversary is an ongoing responsibility to complete the journey of awareness and solidify Quranic values in daily life. He pointed out that those who depart physically remain present through their project, their thought, and their impact on the nation’s conscience.
The event, which was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry for the Works Sector, Engineer Ali Rajih, the Undersecretary of the Housing Sector, Engineer Qasim Atif, the Undersecretary of the Planning Sector, Engineer Wadih Jahaf, the Chairman of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, and directors and employees of the Ministry and its affiliated bodies and institutions, included a presentation about the life of the martyr leader.
