Ministry of Transport and Red Sea Ports Corporation Mourn the Passing of Abdullah Shara, Deputy Director of Al-Salif Port

 

The Yemeni Ministry of Transport and Public Works and the Red Sea Ports Corporation mourned the passing of Captain Abdullah Taher Shara, Deputy Director General of Al-Salif Port, who passed away after a life dedicated to serving his country in the maritime sector.

In a joint statement of condolence, the Ministry and the Corporation noted that the deceased embodied the highest ideals of loyalty in serving his country. He was a dedicated national figure who contributed effectively to maintaining maritime and economic operations and confronting the exceptional challenges imposed by the aggression and blockade.

The statement explained that the deceased was a pillar of maritime operations in the Red Sea ports and played a pivotal and recognized role in breaking the unjust blockade through his exceptional professional efforts in ensuring the continued unloading of goods and the entry of ships, despite the direct and repeated targeting of the Corporation’s facilities and ports. He noted that Captain Abdullah Shara was known for his high competence and extensive experience. He began his career as a maritime pilot, eventually becoming one of the most prominent maritime professionals at the Port of Hodeidah and other Red Sea ports. He was distinguished by his ability to work in the most challenging operational and climatic conditions.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works and the Red Sea Ports Corporation affirmed that the deceased was a model of cooperation and responsibility, contributing to enhancing the safety of maritime operations and improving performance efficiency in service of the public interest.

They considered the passing of Captain Shara a loss to the corporation, the maritime sector, and the national economy, emphasizing that his exemplary life and honorable stances will remain a guiding light for future generations.

The statement expressed sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the family, relatives, and colleagues of the deceased, asking God Almighty to accept him among the martyrs and the righteous in Paradise, and to grant his family and loved ones patience and solace.
