More than seven thousand e-shishas destroyed at Sana’a International Airport

security and customs agencies and the administration of Sana’a International Airport destroyed more than seven thousand e-shishas seized over the past year.

During the destruction process, attended by the assigned committee and several representatives of the security and customs agencies, the Director of Sana’a International Airport, Khaled Al-Shaif, emphasized that the goal of seizing and destroying this type of cigarette is to protect citizens’ health from the harm they cause, which has been scientifically proven to be linked to serious diseases.

He explained that similar quantities of e-cigarettes had been destroyed prior to the Israeli aggression on Sana’a Airport, emphasizing the airport’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to confiscate these dangerous materials upon arrival, collect them, and then destroy them in the presence of a specialized security committee.

For his part, Nizar Al-Asimi, Director of Passenger Customs at the airport, explained that the quantities destroyed today amounted to 7,090 electronic hookahs, which were seized from passengers arriving from several countries.

He noted that the seizure was carried out through joint efforts by security and customs agencies, and in accordance with the directives of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Health, and the Customs Authority to prevent the entry of these materials into Yemeni territory.
