PM directs for rapid rescue affected by floods & forms supreme committee to confront emergencies

The Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi directed on Wednesday the relevant government agencies to quickly rescue those affected by the floods in Hodeida, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah and Raymah provinces.
In a meeting devoted to discussing the damage caused by the floods in Hodeida, Al-Mahwit and Raymah, the Prime Minister urged government agencies and local authorities to work in an integrated manner according to practical plans and provide the required capabilities for rescue operations and provide services and direct humanitarian aid to affected citizens.
The meeting approved the formation of a higher committee to confront emergencies and flood damages, headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Allama Mohammed Miftah, and the membership of the Ministries of Administration, Local and Rural Development, Youth and Sports, Finance, Interior, Defense, Transport and Public Works, Information, Social Affairs and Labor, Electricity, Energy and Water, in addition to the Zakat Authority.
The meeting approved the formation of a joint operations room headed by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, to directly monitor rescue operations and coordinate between the parties in the field.
The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, listened to a brief explanation from the Chairman of the Presidential Committee for Inventorying and Addressing Flood Damage in Hodeida, Raymah and Hajjah Provinces, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, about the results of the field work it carried out over the past days in the affected areas in the three provinces.

He urged community participation in rescue and shelter operations and providing assistance to those affected, focusing in particular on businessmen and international organizations, as well as local associations and organizations.
