Qahim and Abbad inspect the Palestine Street rehabilitation project and inaugurate work on the rainwater harvesting basin at the end of the strea

The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and the Secretary of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, inspected today the progress of work on the Palestine Street rehabilitation project – the first phase, which is being implemented by the General Roads Corporation at a cost of 127 million riyals, funded by the Capital Municipality.
Qahim and Abbad, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality for the Works and Projects Sector, Eng. Abdul Karim Al-Houthi, were briefed on the work carried out on the project and the level of achievement in it.
They listened to an explanation from the supervising engineers about the asphalt restoration work being carried out within the first phase of the project, with a length of 4.5 km, starting from the intersection of Airport Street to the intersection of Marib Street in Bani Al-Harith.
During the visit, the Minister of Transport and Public Works and the Mayor of the Capital praised the level of work carried out in the project, which will contribute to facilitating traffic and reducing traffic congestion, which serves the citizens.
They stressed the importance of doubling efforts to complete the remaining work in the project within the specified time period.
In addition, Minister Qahim and the Mayor of the Capital inaugurated work on the rainwater harvesting basin feeding channel project west of the Military College at the end of the Great Stream in Bani Al-Harith Directorate.
They listened to an explanation from the engineers of the Executive Unit for the Construction, Maintenance and Development of Roads and Public Places in the Capital Secretariat about the excavation work in the rainwater harvesting channel and basin, which has a storage capacity of 300,000 cubic meters in its first and second phases.
