Qahim reviews the performance of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and visits the port of Hodeidah

 

The Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation discussed, in its meeting today, at the port of Hodeidah, headed by the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Ayash Qahim, the progress of work and the emergency operational plans of the corporation during the coming period.

The meeting, which included the Vice Chairman of the Corporation, Nasr Al-Nusairi, and the Undersecretary of Hodeidah Governorate for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Mohammed Al-Nahari, addressed the programs and priorities of work in the ports and ways to face challenges during the current stage.

It also addressed the financial performance of the corporation during the first and second quarters of 2024 AD and the training plan, and approved the final account of the corporation for the year 2022 AD.

During the meeting, the Minister of Transport and Public Works pointed out the importance of implementing priority plans and programs that would improve and enhance the performance of the work and services provided by the ports of the corporation to the Yemeni people.

He stressed the ministry’s interest in activating the role of the corporation’s ports, especially during the next phase, in line with the program of the government of change and construction to achieve a qualitative transition in the corporation and its services as the vital artery to provide the needs of the Yemeni people for goods and commodities.

Minister Qahim also stressed the keenness to implement the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership to provide the needs of work in the ports, as well as to focus on qualitative and technical training and qualification, and to continue the automation process to overcome all services and procedures related to maritime activity.

He noted the efforts of the leadership and employees of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and their keenness to facilitate the entry of ships and provide food and petroleum derivatives despite the difficulties that affected the infrastructure of the port of Hodeidah.

The Vice President of the Corporation presented a presentation of the plans and programs that the leadership of the corporation is working on during the current period, which aim to continue the work of its affiliated ports and enhance their performance.

He pointed to the difficulties facing the work of the corporation and ports as a result of the targeting of the infrastructure of the port of Hodeidah, and the continued prevention of the entry of spare parts and equipment that enable the ports of the corporation to perform their tasks to the fullest extent.

After that, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, accompanied by the Vice President of the Corporation and the Deputy Governor, visited the docks of Hodeidah Port and were briefed on the progress of work and the level of movement in the entry and unloading of cargo and container ships. They also visited a number of service facilities in the port.
