Taiz: Road construction, asphalt works, and flood debris removal continue

The Public Works Office in Taiz Governorate continues road construction, asphalt works, and flood debris removal from several streets, markets, and neighborhoods.
Engineer Bakil Hamid, Director of the Public Works Office in Taiz, explained that the asphalt laying for the 200-meter-long September 21 Street paving project – Phase II – has been completed. He also noted the completion of the project’s protection and side decks, which have reached 93 percent completion.
He pointed to the work being done to remove dirt and debris from the sides of the main road “Taiz – Sana’a” to protect the road from any damage, noting the importance of removing debris from the sides of the main road on September 21 Street and the Taiz – Sana’a line to preserve the asphalt.
Engineer Hamid confirmed the ongoing construction of the Qubeir Road Project in the Rawnah District, using equipment from the office, with 70 percent of the project complete.
He explained that the project is a partnership between the local authority and the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit.
He reported that culverts in the Al-Hawban and Al-Jund areas have been opened, and roads have been cleared of dust and debris resulting from the floods that hit the governorate in recent days.
He confirmed that work is continuing on protecting Abu Zaid Suwaih Street at the Mawiah Junction in the At Taiziyah District, with 98 percent of the project’s total completion.
