Taiz Traffic Police Department Awareness Campaign

 

the Taiz Traffic Police Department implemented a traffic awareness campaign on the motorcycle violation penalty regulations, in accordance with the Cabinet decision.

At the launch event at the Taiz Governorate Center, attended by the Assistant Director of Security for the Governorate, Colonel Saleh Duwaid, and a number of directors of the security departments in the governorate police, Brigadier General Fatik Al-Shamsi, Director of the Taiz Traffic Police Department, explained that the campaign is being implemented in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Interior leadership, the General Directorate of Traffic Police, the local authority in Taiz Governorate, and the General Directorate of Police in the Governorate.

The campaign aims to educate motorcycle owners and drivers about the importance of preserving the lives of themselves and pedestrians, and to present Taiz Governorate with a civilized appearance befitting its status.

He pointed out that the regulations include violations committed by motorcycle drivers, most notably: riding without license plates, driving in the opposite direction, failing to follow traffic police instructions, riding on sidewalks or medians, having more than one person ride behind a motorcycle driver, not wearing a helmet while driving, stopping randomly at intersections, or using alarms or annoying lights.

Brigadier General Al-Shamsi called on motorcycle owners and drivers to adhere to the terms of this penal regulation to ensure their safety. He emphasized that the awareness campaign will be followed by strict field enforcement to apprehend violators and take legal action against all violators.

He directed the formation of a special committee to oversee motorcycle sales at the headquarters of the Taiz Governorate Traffic Police Department to facilitate transactions and motorcycle registration.
