The Anti-Corruption Commission’s Awareness and Toll-Free Hotline Activation Team Meets with Officials at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works

The Awareness and Education Team of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission visited the Ministry of Transport and Public Works today to follow up on the activation of the toll-free hotline for reporting corruption, illicit enrichment, and profiteering, which the Commission launched earlier last week.

During the visit, the Awareness Team, headed by the team leader, Adel Al-Aqbi, Head of the Media, Awareness, Education, and Community Engagement Department at the Commission, met with officials at the Ministry, including the Director General of Systems and Information, Engineer Yahya Habish.

The meeting discussed the importance of continuing to raise awareness about the toll-free hotline and the extent of cooperation from government entities, including the Ministry of Transport and Public Works and its affiliated bodies, through the display of the toll-free number on billboards to inform employees and citizens about it and encourage them to report cases or suspicions of corruption to the Commission. This will enhance corruption prevention and measures to prevent corrupt practices, protect public employees and the public sector, and promote integrity.

The meeting emphasized the importance of cooperation and integration between the Commission and the Ministry. The meeting reviewed the measures taken regarding the circular distributed to the ministry’s affiliated entities and monitored their compliance.

The head of the awareness team commended the ministry’s efforts and its interaction with the commission, particularly its distribution of the toll-free hotline to its affiliated entities. He also praised the ministry’s commitment to implementing awareness activities on this matter, within the framework of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy.

For his part, the ministry’s Director General of Systems and Information affirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and integration with the commission to enhance integrity, transparency, and corruption prevention.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Head of the Media, Awareness, and Education Department at the commission, Director General of the Media Division, Mohammed Al-Haidari; a member of the commission’s awareness team, Hussein Abu Al-Rijal; and the ministry’s Director of Operations, Omar Saif.
